You can use it if you are going back into the work force. I had it while i was studying and while on placement.

I think you can get it for a period of time when you first return to work?

Just thought of something else. You are entitled to the CCR when looking for work so be sure to let centrelink know. You might even be able to get JET?
    Worth checking out either way.

I'm not sure about how it would affect Centrelink payments etc, but even if you are not a lot better financially off, doing some part time work or study now would get you back in the workforce and improve your prospects for when the kids are older and you have more scope to work. So it would be better financially in the long run, even if it does not seem it right now, iykwim.

Cool, yep I know what you mean, I need more money, but it's not the only reason I want to work. I am bored at home all the time I'd and like to eventually work full time (or more days) a week when they are all in school.

Thanks for the suggestions/advice etc everyone, I will look into JET and things like that.

Are you kidding? You're not just a single mum doing home duties. I'm a manager and quite often look at single mums resumes and wish they'd put things along the lines of:
    *Conflict resolution
    *Event planning
    *Multi-tasking
    *First Aid
    To mention just a few!

Look at what you do every day, write it down, then associate it with a 'word' or skill that could assist in your job search! All it comes down to is being able to sell yourself to prospective employers and sell the fact that you can go the job!

Doesnt matter if its for 1 day or 5. Centrelink will approve you for so many hours for each child. I know there is one that you cab apply for JET while searching for work. Think that one covers 20 days so that would be 10weeks or N going to daycare twice a week.

Give centrelink a call tomorrow or go and see them in the office when you have your next childfree day.

Thanks everyone, hopefully I find a job soon otherwise I am gonna be homeless as I can't afford rent here much longer (or I am just gonna get a smaller, cheaper place to live).
