    Hi Stormgirl73,

I have been seeing Dr Andy Stamatiou since October last year. I have found both him and CFC to be wonderful. I have never had any trouble getting an appointment and he runs on time. All the CFC staff are so nice and make you feel really comfortable. Dr Andy also made my partner feel really comfortable as well. He is an obstetrician as well so that was one of the reasons I chose him. He hasn't been at CFC that long so that is maybe why you haven't had many responses. Just let me know if you have any other questions about my experiences, I have done 2 x IUI's and am currently going through my first IVF cycle..fingers crossed!

Hi Can't wait to be a mummy
Thank you for your reply. I saw Dr Andy the other day and was happy with him. He said he is hopeful I may have success with IUI but I don't feel hopeful for I have hardly come across anyone that has had success with that. I don't think I would be able to afford IVF so I have all my hopes on IUI.
Does IUI hurt? He said no but I read stories that it can!
I am doing this alone (no man!) but am lucky to have a 9 year old daughter from a previous relationship. I just want to add to my little family and give her a sibling she has ached for (and me too). I just got to the age where I realised I no longer have time to sit and wait for Mr Right!
I really hope all your dreams come true very soon. No one should have to go through this, it's a cruel world.

IUI is a really good option. Don't be put off by any negative stories you hear. We only tried IUI twice, but Dr Andy said he would have been willing to try IUI another couple of times for us as there is no medical reason they have found as to why I can't fall pregnant. We just decided that we would try IUI twice and if that didn't work then we would move to IVF because the chances are higher. IUI doesn't hurt at all, it is just like a pap smear so a little uncomfortable but not painful at all. I had to take 50mg of clomid each time (even though I ovulate ok on my own I think they want to make sure you ovulate when doing an IUI cycle). The clomid was ok the only real side effect I had was hot flushes. The good thing about IUI is it's not too invasive or expensive (you get most of it back on medicare) and you'll be able to do it a few times - fingers crossed you only need once though. Best of luck to you, your 9 year old will be such a great support to you once the little one comes along and I'm sure she'll love having a baby brother or sister. It can be a cruel world sometimes, but I always think there are people alot worse off than us, we are lucky we live in a country where the science and medicine has advanced so much. Just let me know if you have any other questions about my IUI experience and keep me updated on how you go (if you want to)

Thank you so much for your information.
I don't have high hopes for IUI but I pray it works for IVF probably will not be an option unless I take out a small loan.
I am getting my bloods done in a few days to check AMH etc so hoping that comes back all ok. I did fall pregnant back in December so Dr Andy is hopeful that the tests will be ok, but I am not so confidant.
I always thought that at 39 I would be in a happy relationship with a few kids, I still had hopes until recently but now I realise I have to make my own dreams come true minus the man. Breaks my heart for this is not what I envisioned, but sadly I cannot make my biological stand still while I wait for my prince charming to show up!
Please let me know how you go, even if in a private message. I truly hope you have success xxx
