    Default Cheap eBay ring sling

What does everyone think about them? I bought one because I thought how bad could it be, but now I'm having doubts lol

I couldn't work out the ring sling previously so didn't want to spend a small fortune.

I think the sling is called walkabout. A WAHM mum makes them according to website.

I can't imagine how it could be bad. I haven't experienced an expensive, bought ring sling but I made one for abour $40 and it's AMAZING. Can't believe I went all this time without...

The important think about ring slings is to check the rings! There have been issues in the past with unsafe rings that can 'open' and it can be dangerous. The rings should be designed to carry a baby so you might want to check what rings she's using.

I agree about the rings. You want rings that are continuous ie have no join, even if the join is welded. You also need to make sure the stitching is well done and that t there are at least two rows of stitching where the rings are sewn in iykwim. HTH!

Thanks everyone. It's actually really good. My DD who is 9kg has been a bit grumpy and has been sleeping in the cradle hold position lol she looks ridiculous as she's huge but she falls asleep instantly.
It's a really thick cotton, with 3 rows of stitching at the rings and rings have no joins. I don't think I'll use it forever but it's working while I'm still trying to work it all out. I still use my woven for big walks etc.

    oh awesome!

i'm another person who's wary of non-brand names occasioanlly. but then again, for $25, not really sure you can go wrong...

do you recommend it? did it hurt your shoulder? i really need a ring sling for my collection - the slip knots not cutting it with my leany baby atm

Oh it's so hard to say if it hurts because I'm still learning how to use it. Some days I get it prefect and DD feels weightless, other days it kills. So i guess that tells me it wouldn't hurt if you know how to use it!

I found this when I was new to them too! I think the biggest thing was making sure the rings were in the "broach" position. Any lower or higher (especially higher) and it hurt like hell.

Get it right and I can wear him all day long I think he weighs 11 or 12kg.
