    Hello all,

Has been awhile between posts but just thought i will update where we are at.

This cycle I will be the one jabbing (two shots of Lucrin down so far ) and hopefully everything will work out and i will produce some nice eggs which will turn out to be great little emmies to be transferred to my darling DP.

DP starts Lucrin tonight and on friday we have our double scans and a BT for me.

    Hope everyone is well

    Hi all!,
my DP and I have been trying to conceive for 6 months through a clinic no luck so decided to find a known donor. We had may donors approach us and and 1 who was really keen. Unfortunately he pulled out at the last miniute (on the day) grrrrr we were so disappointed, we turned down 3 other people. Now we have missed this cycle so we are on the hunt for another donor now. I believe everything happens for a reason and being sad isn't going to get anyone pregnant lol so just have to stay positive and know that it will happen. Anyone else use a knowen donor who pulled out last miniute? Baby dust to all

Hi Miia.. DF and I will be starting our TTC journey in a couple of months. Sorry to hear that you haven't got your BFP yet. Can I ask what clinic you were using? We plan on using an unknown donor so I can't offer any advice. What made you change to using a known donor instead? Sending lots of baby dust your way

    Hey rainbowbabe,
we went through qfg our FS was lovely let DP put the Sperm in every time gret bed side manor could have a joke with us made us feel at ease but he was very busy we generally waited an hour past our appointment time and his reception staff were quite disorganized at times with messages and things like that. He was with a busy practice though so if we choose to go back to a dr I would look at getting a different dr one who has a smaller practice and you don't feel so much like a number but that's just me some people might not mind a busy practice. We choose to try a known donor ( and by knowen they arnt really they are very generous men who are just wanting to help women conceive) because sperm is $950 a pop plus drs bills which do vary but ours were about $400 each month until we switched to injectables which was then $668 a month. We got about $35 back from Medicare before we switched to injectables then we were getting $485 back which isn't so bad but it all adds up and you don't get monies back on sperm. We have come across some weirdos on our journey of finding a known donor and some really nice ones too. I guess you have to go through a few frogs before you find your prince, we have also spoken to each potential donor about signing a anonymous donor agreement who all but two said they were more than happy to sign, the other two we said no thank you too. I would like to give this way a try for a few cycles before we go back to a clinic as it just wasn't working for us and there is nothing medically wrong with me. Good luck with your journey lots and lots of baby dust if you have any other question don't hesitate to fire away

Thanks for sharing that Miia.. It's always interesting to read about someone else's journey

I can imagine the type of process you would have to go through finding a donor you are happy with and it's really good that most we are happy to sign away!

I know what you mean about the cost of it all. That's why we are jumping straight to IVF/ICSI. Neither of us have any fertility issues but we just feel we will end up spending a lot more through more attempts at IUDI - guess we don't feel lucky enough.

Having said that it's still a concern that we won't have success with one stim cycle of IVF so I guess nobody knows what will happen until it's actually happening!

When are you trying again? I'll have my fingers crossed for you x
