    Default 19 month old refusing milk.

    My DD who otherwise seems fine has started refusing her milk (cows) She was having sippy cups and last week i switched her over to straw cups and she can drink from a straw but seems to have lost interest from there. Ive tried her again with a sippy and she is now outright refusing. She usually has 2 cups a day ( around 500ml) Any ideas? Could it be teething? She has always LOVED her milk...

    Is she eating more ? I found with my DS ( 19 months) he much prefers food over any milk now , so he only drinks water and I make him an afternoon smoothie every day , maybe she's just had enough?

    Hm not really shes eating about the same. Can i ask what you put in the smoothie? If she id having milk in her breakfast and cheese and yogurt everyday is that enough dairy anyway or do they still really need the extra milk? Sorry about all the Q's Ive never had a toddler before!!

    Kids need about 500g calcium a day, still quite easy to get without milk, 1 tub yogurt is 250mg, add a days worth of veggies,fruit,nuts,grains ( a normal diet) and you would be fine
    Try adding chia seeds , LSA or sesame seeds to everything ( 1 teaspoon is nearly 180g)
    Plus if she likes cheese , ricotta is a good one on crackers or toast

    With our smoothies ( i make enough for me too!) I use whatever milk I happen to have open ( a2, almond or quinoa usually) yesterday's one was ;

    About 300ml A2 milk
    1 banana
    1/2 tub jalna vanilla yogurt
    Big handful frozen organic strawberries and blueberries
    Teaspoon of chia seeds

    On glass of this was just about his required calcium intake!

    My lo doesn't consume any milk except he nurses once before bed,

    He was eating yogurt but has gone off it.

    I figure he knows what his body needs.

    I wouldn't worry about it, cow's milk isn't that good for you anyway. Plenty of green leafy's should do the trick!
