Default Sick of being judged, how old do i have to be for it to stop?

I was talking to a friend of mine at work about her 2 kids (and preg with 3rd) one day and another girl from work came in and started having a go at her - where were her kids while she was at work, were they all to the same man, what kind of mother leaves her children to come to work, you must have been REALLY young when you got knocked up, etc. my friend turned around and said my kids are at home with my HUSBAND who is their FATHER and I was 20 when I had my first child and I'm at work because we have a mortgage and they enjoy spending time with their dad! The girl had worked with my friend for months and never even noticed the wedding ring or bothered to notice she wasn't 15, she was 25! How can you judge someone and not even know the facts your judging!!??

When is a mum a 'young mum'? And when does a mum become an 'older mum?' I had my first son at 22 and my second at 24. Am I one of these young mothers?

Under 25 apparently is a young mum.

I'm 27 and still get looks! Especially now that my big boy is in kindy. I look very young for my age (so im told) so I guess that doesn't help.

When I was in hospital with DS1 I was asked every single shift change (doctors and nurses) if I wanted a prescription for the pill. I was gobsmacked! I just kept telling them that DS1 was planned! And I had just had an emergency c/s so didn't feel like getting knocked up in the near future

I'm 44 and had my first at 39.....I think people judge you if you are not the norm. It doesn't mean you are wrong it just mean you, in your case, were ready or in my case you weren't going to get pregnant with any old joker that walked through the door out of desperation.

Enjoy your kids and ignore them. Judgemental people are usually jealous.
