    Default Godparent Q...

I am having my son baptised (catholic) very soon and at this stage will only be having one god parent (god father) I am wondering if I will run into trouble with the fact that he has been baptised catholic but was confirmed etc in the Anglican church (at school Anglican Church Grammar).

Will it be okay since he was baptised catholic?

    TIA

Shouldn't matter at all. Neither of my god parents are even baptized. We went to a friends son's christening on the weekend. He had 2 sets of godparents and I know for a fact at least one of them has never followed religion of any kind let alone been baptized etc.

We had to have at least one god parent baptised and confirmed in the Catholic Church. In saying that we didn't have to provide proof.

Same here. Two were and two weren't for ours. One was even better representative not the actual godparent.

Thanks everyone - I'm hoping it will be ok.

This particular person is taking the role very seriously which is so lovely. It would be a shame if he was disallowed.

fingers crossed it should all go ok
