Default Baby is driving me mental with his nipple gripple!

I asked once before and you wise ladies suggested I get a necklace for bub to play with while he feeds. Problem is he prefers to scratch pinch and twist my nipple rather than playing with the necklace. I spend the whole feed yanking his hand out of my top approximately every 10 seconds. The only effective way to stop him is if I hold my other nipple myself, but this isn't very comfortable for the duration of a sometimes hour and a half long feed. Sometimes I hold his hand but he usually protests and struggles if I do that. I've put up with it for most of his 21 months, but some nights (like tonight) it is sooo frustrating that I am totally over feeding him. I'm not going to stop feeding him, nor will I punch him in the head, but those thoughts cross my mind, that's how irritating it is when he darts his hand down my top and scrapes his sharp little nails across the top of my nipple. Is there any way to stop him or is this habit too ingrained now? Has anyone experienced this and are there any happy endings?

He is 21 months? Have you tried taking him off plopping him on the floor and telling him NO! I can understand this would be difficult at night time esp if your nursing to sleep, I usually use the barrier method but our nursing sessions aren't that long normally.

Omg that sucks! Can you pop the other one back in the bra with a High-necked top so he just can't get his hand down there?

Not quite the same but DS loves poking my belly button and it is so annoying!

Yes I'm feeding him to sleep so I am reluctant to plop him on the floor or any other sleep reducing action. He does it with or without a bra! He is so strong and forceful he gets inside the bra. Having said that my bras are probably a bit lose as I've recently lost weight...

My DS was a fiddler, I hated it! Though he didn't feed for that duration at that age (I breastfed him for nearly 4 years). Are you able to limit his feeds to just the time it takes to actually feed? I totally get the comfort feed thing, as my DS did it, but 1.5 hours is an awfully long time. My DD is 7 months and the longest she feeds for is probably about 10-15 minutes for both sides, though a quick feed is more like 5 minutes (just one side).

OMG I could have written your post word for word! My 17 mth old does this constantly at the moment and it is irritating me beyond belief! He seems to want to pull my nipple out of my shirt! It's gotten to the point where I want to wean him totally because I can't stand the fiddling.

I am trying to reduce him to one feed in 24 hours currently and it seems to have made him worse, he is stuffing his hand down my shirt during the day now as well which he never used to do

I have found that holding my hand firmly over the other side is the only way to stop it. I am seriously considering going into the adult shop to see if they have some kind of fake boob I can buy him I could pop it in his cot and night and it may solve his night waking problem as well!

I gently poke or tickle mine under the arm when she grabs me (usually my mouth or face as nips so sensitive she has never been able to touch!!), this makes her pull her arm back to her side... Hahahaha... Now if she starts grabbing my face I just have to lift my finger up as if to move it towards her arm pit and she stops hahah win to mum

Tried the underarm poke last night but was putting both boys to bed at the same time, as my wife is sick, and ds2 was laughing hysterically. Will have to try it another night when ds1 is still up!

My ds does that too but maybe not quite as bad as you are describing . I bought him a little taggie blanket and put it in his hand while I'm feeding and he plays with that instead
