    I would not ice the cake with the buttercream until the day you need it but make the fondant accessories ahead of time :-)

    And I wouldn't refrigerate the cake if it's a butter cake. I just 3 layer glad wrap mine and put in an air tight container. I did that the other day and it was fine

    Thanks everyone!

    Ok so I've made all my fondant decorations and cut/shaped the cake. All that I need to do now is the buttercream layer - given the different responses I'll leave that until the morning to be safe

    Missie Mack I've never heard of marshmallow fondant! Is that easy? Does it taste better (I hate the taste f fondant)?

    That looks.awesome! Well done! I have made marshmallow fondant but it's got raw egg whites in so I *think* it needs to be pretty fresh
