    Default i need to see....

i dont have another ultrasound untill the NT scan at 12 weeks. I am currently 9 weeks and have had mild cramping all they way around my lower back and what seems to be like ghastro symptoms. No bleeding but alot of white discharge. Im worried and have a feeling something is not right. I want to push the ultrasound to a sooner date . How do i go about this? do i go to my gp and get another referal off him or call the maternity ward? I need to see if this baby is still okay.

I would talk to your ob about it...

I had the same thing at 7 weeks, i think the discharge is normal, but lower back pain can sometimes be something else... Sometimes... Everyone is different...

I had the worst cramps n sore back, and was worrying myself sick, so went to ED and the took me for an ultrasound...

Bubs is currently 37 weeks and still causing me back pain ☺

Trust your instincts, if u think something isn't right, then speak to your OB about it. Can u give OBs office a call, tell them you're in pain and that you're really worried and need to move your appointment up? I saw my OB for the first time at 8 weeks, then again at 10 weeks coz i had concerns, there's no way I could have waited any longer.

If you don't have an OB, go back to your GP or go to emergency I guess... I'm not sure if the maternity ward will see u at 9 weeks, but ur hospital might be different.

I've had really bad period like cramps in my lower back a few times this pregnancy, but it's turned out to be nothing.. A little cramping is normal and some women just cramp more than others. But, I've had two ectopics and both times one of my first symptoms was diarrhea. Im not saying u have an ectopic or something, but sometimes things present in the least likely symptoms so u never know..

Like PP said, could be anything.. So go get urself seen... I'm sure it's nothing, but better to be safe, right?

    Good luck!

thanks ladies, i saw gp this morning (my usual one wasnt in) i explained my symptoms and i was shocked when he said "if your body is going to miscarry, it will and there is nothing you or i can do at this early stage." :|
However as i have had the cramping on and off for a couple weeks he said something would have happend by now if it was going to. He said i look aenemic and took swaps to rule out any infections that may cause a m/c.
He also said im very uderweight and i need to start eating properly even tho i said i cant keep much down atm. So he said to get some hydralite which i havent because dd got too grumpy and needed to come straight home for her nap.
So i guess im a little relieved to know cramping can occur throughout pregnancy and not necessarily mean m/c.
I would have liked to be able to hear bub's heartbeat, he said he tried but mine was too loud.
Ive been told to take it easy and get some help with dd (very demanding active little girl of mine!) I need to be bleeding from the ears for dh to take a care day off work. I dont have family close by or friends i can rely on. Sometimes it's a damn struggle!

I can't believe he would say that... That's a little insensitive don't you think?

I actually went to ED with cramping which turned out to be heavy bleeding... I passed a massive blood clot and was told by the dr on the ED ward that I had a m/c... (at 7 1/2 weeks) I was devastated...

I went to my normal GP to make sure, he sent me for an ultrasound to see if I had any cysts on my ovaries and to check if I needed a d&c, and the ultrasound showed a baby with a strong hb...

So if your worried, make them listen to you... 9 weeks is long enough to have an established pregnancy... I would be going into your nearest ED at a hospital that caters for maternity and demanding an ultrsound! Lol

What a horrible horrible doctor!! I hate when doctors say "you can't change the outcome" or "if you're going to miscarry, there's nothing we can do"... Yes I know that's true but saying it doesn't make you feel any better!!

At 9 weeks it's can be hard to pick up a hb on a Doppler, u'd really need a vaginal ultrasound I think... But yes, go to the ED if u have to and don't leave until u have reassurance..

I think you'll be fine tho, when I had ectopics, the cramps I had were waaaay more painful than period cramps, and I get pretty bad period cramps... With this pregnancy, ive had a few days of bad cramping in my lower back, lower ab, even my legs.. So bad i resorted to painkillers.. But the cramps would always go away.

I know any kind of twinge or pain or discomfort can send ur mind worrying. Just remember, at times like that, Google is NOT ur friend.

Hope u get the reassurance u need soon

Thanks ladies I know for sure i dont have an ectopic pregnancy as i had a dating scan at 7weeks confirming fetus is where it should be, heartbeat and all is fine.

The GP said to take paracetomol for the discomfort and the fact ive already had a scan, seen heartbeat and have another in 3 weeks time, he dismissed me when i asked the possibility of having another scan for my own reassurance

The women's health dont want much to do with you when your under 12 weeks pregnant. They fob u off to ED and the rude lady i got on the phone from the maternity ward had an annoyed tone to her voice. She just said "you are best to call your gp or go the the emergency..." i asked if id have to wait long at the ED cos i have my 1yr old with me. She said "i dont know, that is a completely different department to us, i have no idea whats going on down there". OK...RUDE! i guess they get 1000's of these calls.

anyways, atm i just have lingering annoying pain around my uterus area. Gets worse when i am active. Sitting down to a hot lunch and putting my feet up while dd hopefully has a long nap for me. I guess all i can do is look after myself now.
    Thanks for all the support.
