Default *spin off* dress up parties

Have you ever had a dress up party for yourself or your kids? I had one for my 30th and have been to a few adult ones.

This year my daughter turns 9 and wants a Harry Potter dress up party. It's a bit exciting!

Have you held or been to one? How was it?

I have so far been Pocohontas at a Disney party, Indiana Jones at an 80s music and movies theme, part of Black Sabbath at a rock/metal party and a MASH theme I was just in army gear with a shirt that said MASH. DD was part of MASH and was Scooby Doo once.

I love costume parties - for adults and children. My kids love dressing up and making up stories, games etc.

A friend had a 'Trailer Trash' themed party for his 21st -- everyone let their inner Bogan FREE!!

..and I *ahem* won the 'Double Plugger Thing Award' -- for my other type of thong

-- no children were at the party.

Only of boys are dressed as boys and girls are dressed as girls!

    Sorry, joking couldn't help myself.

Dress up parties are so much fun. Last one we went to was 80s theme so all fluro crazy clothes.

DS1 has a super hero party coming up and has a current obsession with pretending to be a cat or a dog. I'm thinking catwoman? - but that may be too controversial lol.

I haven't had one and to be honest I don't like them, purely because nothing at costume shops fit me and I lack the creativity to make my own. DS hasn't had any yet but if he wanted to I don't have an issue with them for him, it is purely my own insecurities that stop me.
