    Default Biting

My DS is 33wks old and has 3 teeth and he's using them me

He's just bitten me again mid feed and drew blood. Does anyone have any helpful advice on how to discourage this and on how to help to heal the gouge mark I now have?

    Thanks!!

Since he is a bit older try telling him not to do it, and that if he does, you are stopping the feed. When he bites, stop feeding and take him off. No more milk for that feed Tell him he can't feed if he bites you.

    Worth a try

It's hard. My dd bit me for 6 feeds in a row over 24 hours ... starting a few hours before I got my first AF after her birth! She'd never bitten so hard before and to do it over & over again I was super distressed. The good news is that she stopped.

I would take her off & assume she wasn't actually wanting the milk when she bit me and perhaps she wasn't as it probably tasted different or something. It's been a few weeks and she hasn't bitten me since despite having 2 massive front teeth!

DS was very bad with biting. He actually thought it was funny. I started screaming in pain, taking him off and putting him on the floor. Quite often he would cry and I would give him a cuddle, say its ok and look at him and say "don't bite mummy". Occasionally I would have to end the feed and get DH to rock him to sleep. It seems to have made a difference or maybe the phase has ended. Good luck
