Bub isn't here yet but I plan on using FDC as I have to go back to work probably 3 days per week.

I have no family down here so there are no other options really.

If bub adjust wells to FDC and I have appointemnts to run or need some me time I will have no issue using it as suits me.

My family, we will do what works for us.

I did with DD 2 days a week from age 3, then 5 days from 4, because I had to work as her father wouldn't pay CS and I wanted to provide for her. Belly bub will go in 2 days a week from about 1, again, I will need to work.
I will use FDC- I have no options for informal care ie no family to help us.

    I work 3 days.

DS1 is in care 2 days the other day with DH.

DS2 has just started 1 day in care, 1 day with DH, 1 day at work with me.

When I was on maternity leave I still had DS2 in care. For a number of reasons, continuing his routine, socialization, he receives on site speech therapy, to assist me with having a newborn at home. I find it very beneficial to him. And it was to me also.

If he didn't enjoy it, I wouldn't send him for any reason.

My 2.5 DD goes 3 days a week as I work. Once Iv finished up as DS is due DD will still go once a week.
She loves it there and has learnt so much

    I don't now, but I did for 6 months when DD1 was 15 months.
Why? Coz I was entitled to. Simple.

    The long answer is -
I was a SAHM, and I didn't have friends or family around with children for DD1 to play with, so I put her in day care so that she could make friends.
She was super clingy. So I also did it to teach her some independence.
It was great to have a day where I could do things apart from having a child literally attached to me all day, crying and screaming if I dared move a centimeter away from her.

I put DS into daycare once a week from around 12 months till 4years old when he went two days a week. He needed the socialization and I'm not a playgroup or mothers group person and none of my friends had children. It gave me a chance to have a day to myself once a week - naptimes and half an hour here or there wasn't giving me enough to relax.

He went up to twice a week because DF and I were separated and I found it difficult coping with a full time 4yr old as well as taking care of everything on my own - as well dealing with the separation. I don't regret it - it was what worked for us at the time.

My dd goes 5 days she is 16 months. She started a month ago as I went back to work a month ago. I'm working all 5 days.
I can't believe how much she has learnt in four weeks! So proud of her!

Dd has been in CC since she was 2 as I was studying and then started full time work. She started off just going 2 days then 4 (grandma has her 1 day). She loves it and thrives there, she gets so much stimulation and learns heaps (I don't think I could provide that tbh)
When I move she will b going 5 days as we r moving away from family so it's easier to have her in 5 days.
I prefer CC to FDC but that's just me I have friends who love FDC so I think it just a personal preference.
Every family is different as r their needs.
