Christmas this year we will have 4 boys, 2x5yr olds, 3yr old and 2month old - All three older boys are getting bikes, probably some plastic junk like nerf guns, transformers, lego etc. Newborn wont get much, will probably get a jumparoo and a couple of 6month+ toys... with 4 boys there isn't much we don't already have.

We don't have set prices for each child, we just spend what we can afford on things they want or need. Last year the boys presents was around $600 all up.

Last Xmas, we did go stupid but we re did her whole room, new furniture, bedding, plus a few small ones from us not Santa . We I'd that knowing that ds would be born around Xmas and we wont be able to do it again, were setting a budget of hopefully 200 each, and a joint present, swing set or trampoline . Il's try to convince me every year I'm unfair, and mil used to spend at least 1k on each kid, all 5, which hecould never afford, and spent all year re paying.

Wow people spend a lot!! I reckon about $150 per child. Unless it something bit like outdoor equipment. DH and I try to limit our presents to a couple of hundred. I have 1 niece and 2 nephews that I spend about $40 each on and then we do a KK on my side of the family and DPs side of the family for $50 each.

I'm so glad we started the KK as there are too many brothers, sisters and parents to buy for.

No limit, just depends on what they like, their age and what they need.

Around $300 - $400 each, depends on what they want/need (and what I forget I've bought) . Spend what you can afford, take advantage of the toy sale laybys. Buy giftcards when you have spare cash. It's an occasion that should be a fun family time, at the end of the day your kids wont care what you've spent.

To me it is based less on monetary value more on what he needs / likes.

Last Xmas (ds 1st) we gave him a book, a towel, an elephant rocker and one toy. Total $80. He still got heaps of presents from the rest of the family.

This year we may spend afew hundred on an outdoor play set but it something that will get used for many years.

Default How much do you spend on christmas ?

Late reply but I think $200 each is plenty. I don't have a set amount just get what I think she would like I got by how many gifts. 1 main thing, 4 small things and stocking. Usually around $300-$400. I feel I go overboard though. I could do it for less if I restrained myself more lol

My daughter got a $200 doll's house for Christmas and birthday and as a moving interstate sweetner :P

On Christmas day, she'll get a $30 tutu, and a skirt and necklace that I made her. She'd two and a half. My parents are getting her a scooter. For her birthday, she's getting either a play kitchen, or a doctor's set.

On a random note, DP got a $20 on sale hot dog maker (it's all he ever wanted. Seriously) and I got a $150 camera from him that he gave me early IN THE MIDDLE OF MY UNI EXAMS (then he had a bit of a sulk because I wasn't excited enough, hahaha.) My best friend (final year nursing) got a really, really old leather medical book that I found at the second hand book store for $5. Close friend A got a cookbook and workout dvd that she asked for, other close friend gets some books and a skirt I made her. My parents get a card from me, and books. All up, probably less then $200....

I am blown away with the amount some spend !!! I thought $150 was a big amount .. I guess big items will bring the cost up .. The money isn't a big deal for us .. But something in me won't let me spend a huge amount .. Plus we buy most online at half the price ..
A trampoline for her birthday will be a bigger cost .. But even then we will probably. Buy from auction house ..
I guess if money isn't an issue them spend up !!
