    I believe...
You ARE gauranteed a ticket....in fact you're already on the train (spiritually). And no you would not have done different things and here's why....because you are the child of the most high God. Your desires are his desires...you don't WANT to do those things NOT because you don't want to go to hell but because of WHO you are in Christ. That's not to say you won't do them anyway...as Paul said in Romans 7, he did what he didn't want to do. He was in anguish because he continually sinned even though he didn't want to....but later said that he is redeemed anyway and that his spirit waits to wit the redemption of his body (the body that continually does what he doesn't want to do because it's full of sin).

ALL sin and fall short of the glory of God....so if one was hoping to get to heaven by being 'good' then good luck with that, because you will never ever be GOOD. The old testament is full of people trying to be 'good'. It was the ones who looked forward to the cross that managed to remain faithful through all their mistakes etc. We are to look back to the cross because it is Christ who is the sinless one...Christ is the obedient one...Christ who is the worthy one - NOT US....never us! It's not about us....it's never about us and our worthiness and our ability to save ourselves and keep ourselves saved...it's about Christ and our faith that he HAS saved us and he WILL keep us saved. He promised he will not lose what God has given Him. So if sin is what's going to keep us from eternal life - then Christ is a liar. Which is lucky cos my body is riddled with it...that's why I age and I get sick and I die etc

We have all sinned I have two kids n I'm not married. Can I just ask what about a pedophile priest who has ruined lives and made life a living hell for some if he asked forgiveness would he b allowed into heaven ?
Being good to me is knowing right from wrong and not doing things that will seriously harm others. The odd drink, sex b4 marriage and homosexuality is not IMO sinning.
Killing, raping and making profit of the sadness/loss of others are some examples of genuine sinning.

It's the feast of Pentecost and all this talk if the Holy Spirit is heart warming

Just to jump in - I don't believe God will simply accept anyone who rocks up to the pearly gates and says "oh so you're God, now I believe and I'm sorry i didn't before, so I would like to enter". I think it's more about how that person lived their lives here on earth. If they deliberately went out to cause evil and ridicule God, perhaps they won't be accepted, however as a few ppl have mentioned, it's only God who will be the final judge and this is all speculation. I don't believe all atheists therefore will go to hell, wherever that is and in whatever form that comes. (I don't really put too much emphasis on hell... I'm more keen on just getting to heaven!).

Knowing God just gives us an advantage to live meaningful lives and try to follow in Jesus' footsteps.. which will ultimately lead to our glorious heavenly reward.

I believe that they will be tormented until they do...not through fire and brimestone but through the sheer knowledge that they were wrong and that God really is real and that they can watch others live while they remain in death. This will be torment enough and it will probably feel like fire and brimestone to them. I believe that there will come a day when EVERY knee will bow and EVERY tongue will confess that he is Lord...and that ALL will be saved. When the last enemy (death) is destroyed.,..there will be no more death.,..only life and EVERYONE will live.

I believe FIRMLY that once saved always saved...and that God is the one who keeps us and He is the one who perserveres for us till the end. All those 'in' Christ will remain so and that this is His promise to His children.

I'm identify with calivinism more than any other 'brand' of christianity, still haven't decided if I'm 100% calvinist or not...nor do I even care.
    You write well...

Sorry not just singling out homosexuals but just because I had this scripture up I thought I would share.

    Romans 1:27-32 NLT

And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.
Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done. Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too.

In this scripture it says that people who practise these things will Die.

Can you please explain why you dont think that homosexuality, sex before marriage etc are not sins?

God forgives us, IF we ask for forgiveness. If we don't, how can we receive it? Our punishments on earth are consequences to our actions.
So if someone was to stand at the pearly gates, and say to him, "oh, please forgive me, I didn't think you were real, but I stand corrected" he would still send me them to the fiery pit, despite being a good person on earth?

You know, I think that's bull. I was raised a catholic, went to catholic school, and from my interpretation, god forgives all sins.

There are plenty of horrible things in the bible that god did.

No I don't think having sex b4 marriage or having sex with a consenting adult of the same sex is sinning why because it's not hurting anyone.
Sex with a child on the other hand or raping someone is clearly a sin yet for some reason a lot of priests(people spreading the word of god) seem to get away with it and it's swept under the rug then the church moves them to another parish to continue sinning. That to me is one of the biggest sins. Along with selling drugs, stealing because of greed and not need and in general hurting others or making others suffer because of ones own wants.

No I personally don't believe that he would reject ANYONE who calls out his name and believes...whether it be now, at the pearly gates or after judgement. He promises that those who confess with their mouth, and believe in their heart the Lord Jesus that they will be saved. He doesn't go back on his word.

This website may interest you re your questions about homosexuality. It's a website made by Christians, interpreting the bible from the original languages and not the butchered versions that are around today

And for what it's worth, I am gay and I don't like being called a sinner. How would u feel if someone told you that the way you were born is a sin?
