CS Lewis in his Narnia books presents an interesting concept of hell, where those who are there are unable to see anything else. Basically everyone has the same opportunities but the truly evil only see truly evil so of course where they go after death is horrible ... Through their own horrible eyes.

Yes, but I believe it will be destroyed forever. Definitely don't believe in purgatory.

I do not believe in a hell that we go to when we die.. Just as I don't believe we go straight to heaven when we die. I believe what the bible says. That hell is the 1000 years when Satan is locked up on the earth.

I don't believe in hell as a place in the way that many do (I.e: fire and being eternally tormented). I simply believe in the literal translation of the word "hell", which means "grave". The bible often talks about a fiery hell, where the original word used is "Gehenna" - which was a literal place. Often "unclean" bodies were burned there (prisoners, prostitutes, those who had died from leprosy etc). Thus, the concept of "unclean" people burning in hell. I think the early churches really used this concept to scare those who couldn't read the bible for themselves or when bibles weren't available and people were just told by priests what to believe. Over the centuries it has become the accepted interpretation by most. I believe the anguish the bible associates with hell is the literal pain and anguish of those who do not receive salvation will feel when they realise the mistake they have made as judgement day. I believe they will die with that anguish, and remain in the grave forever.

I don't believe that simple believing in God and being a "good" person will save anyone. The bible is very clear about what is required - "Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved..." Mark 16:16. I really strongly believe that you need to be old enough to consciously believe and choose to follow Christ and be baptized - I do not believe in infant baptism as God never mentions it and children cannot make a decision to believe and follow.

I don't believe in going to heaven, and I don't believe in immortal souls. When I read the bible I take it literally, and I try not to let any influences such as popular belief taint what is in front of me. The word "soul" in the bible literally means "breath" or "breathing". If something has a soul it means it is alive. I believe when we die we are no longer alive and we become dust, until judgment day. When that day comes I believe the dead will be risen and the world will be judged. Grace alone will save us, not the amount of good things we've done.

I do believe you will need to be baptized to be saved.

It's hard to explain the kingdom of heaven thing (it's long and I'm on my phone!) but, generally the kingdom or eternal life is referred to as the "kingdom of heaven" I believe that this means the kingdom will be heavenly, but not necessarily "in the sky". There are many references about it being on Earth and even says that Jerusalem will be the capital. I have a lot more to say but I really need to go to bed!

I look forward to chatting more, and hearing your thoughts. love this stuff!
Very similar to my beliefs.. Can I ask what religion you are or were raised?

I believe that hell is here on earth and that you keep reliving your life until you get it right then you go to heaven. I believe that you must have done something horrible in your past life to become a human cause humans are evil. And I don't believe that god is there to judge us, I believe he is there for guidance. And the way he guides us is when he gives us challenges in life to see what path we take and the way we handle ourselves. And I don't believe in judgment day. Hope this makes sense to people lol

Can i ask where u get this from? Unless im misunderstanding you?

According to bible prophecy satan is the ruler of this world right now - (revelation 12:9-12) and is confined to the earth....for a "short period of time" which is one of the reasons there is so much evil as he is weilding influence over earthly affairs (people, governments and false religion). I believe according to the signs given by Jesus that we are living in the last days right now - in fact very close to the end of them. Is this what you mean by the hell on earth?

After armageddon is when the 1000 year reign of christs rule begins over the earth....when the earth will b transformed back into a paradise and the resurrection of the dead begins (the opposite of hell on earth) and satan is locked up so to speak but has no influence on the earth at all( revelation 20:1-3 - "And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven with the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. And he seized the dragon, the original serpent, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. And he hurled him into the abyss and shut [it] and sealed [it] over him, that he might not mislead the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After these things he must be let loose for a little while.")

That says at the end of the 1000 years he is let loose one last time for a short period of time ( doesnt specify how long just says "a little while") for one final test on mankind then is destroyed forever.

I believe that when Jesus comes , the righteous dead and the righteous living will go to heaven for a thousand years. Satan will be on the earth with no one to tempt or 1000 years . This for him will be hell. Then the unrighteous dead will be raised. We will all return to the earth made new but Satan will attempt along with the unrighteous to overthrow Jesus but will fail and all these including Satan will then pass away.
