    Default How do you like your steak... and why?

    *There is no poll because I'm an idiot*

    But why do you like your steak cooked that way?

    Recently went out to dinner with the ILs and SIL and MIL were shocked and appalled when DP said he'd have his medium. "Why not just ask for a live cow?"

    Medium is not even bloody... it's a bit pink in the middle. lol. Heaven forbid he mentioned the word "rare" in there. I giggled on the inside - MILs idea of cooking steak involves cooking it on slow for about 1/2 hour, turning it a million times and then having to take 1/2 hour to eat it and ending up with a sore jaw because it's so bloody tough to eat! lol.

    So anyway, it got me wondering... how do you like your meat and why?

    I like mine probably medium... maybe medium rare. I like it to be easy to eat, but not bleeding everywhere.

    Medium rare. I love beef tataki though which is seared on the outside and raw on the inside.

    I like it how your MIL makes it - well and truly dead

    Why? That's the way my Mum cooked it, so it reminds me of home

    ETA - DH likes his rare because he likes the 'juices' (aka: blood). Freak.

    I like it medium. Nothing like a juicy, tender, slightly red steak, yum!!! I'm eating one right now

    I find by asking for it medium, if I'm out and its overcooked, then it's usually still semi edible.

    I could never do blue. I could maybe manage rare but I wouldn't touch anything else on hte plate that hte "juices" ran onto... but blue? No thanks!
