Hi Sariele, thank you for the welcome I hope that things get moving for you soon so you can get started.

Peoniesarepretty - I hope that your cycle can get started soon too. I hear you, I had no idea that my AF wasn't 'normal' until ttc. I'm still so all over the place with it that I'm not sure what each month will bring. I work 3 days just out of the City so I'll probably be visiting the Sydney Clinic for US and BT over the next few weeks. I'll have my EPU either at North Gosford Hospital or Greenwich but have ET at the Gosford clinic.

Thank you for the offer of your friends details, it would be awesome if you could message them to me. I think I will also ring up about acupuncture on Monday. I'm on elevit and I think I'll give CoQ10 a go too.

Hope you all have something nice planned for tonight!

Mmmm.. I love me some Alcide!

Peonies, I'm near the Hills too - random question, do you know/recommend any good acupuncture clinics nearby? I am considering doing it, but I want to go based on a referral, not just a number in a phone book!

Welcome Bluebird! Good luck for your first round!

Well ladies, I've finally stopped bleeding! Hooray! And as for tonight, we just bought a bottle of scotch and set up the wii for a game marathon... Happy hubby! (Guess who's getting lucky tonight... 😜) gotta make the most of limbo land! Ha ha.

I subtly pointed out magic mike the other night to DH and said I wouldn't mind seeing that one. He said "you just wanna perv!" my reply... ER DER!

I bought some elevit today. For the past year I've just been taking i-folic (that's all FS told me I needed), but since the discussion in here the other day about zinc and vit-C, I was concerned I wasn't getting enough. I was intending on buying Conceive Well Gold, because it has higher zinc levels, but the 30 pack of elevit was the same price as the 28 pack of CWG, so I went with elevit. Plus they are one-a-day. But elevit only have 7.5mg of Zinc, and the recommended for pg etc. is something like 11mg (CWG had 15mg). I guess I probably get some from food though, which would make up the difference.

I've had to stop the Elevit altogether now. Last week I went to my GP to get referral for the IVF (we only had a referral from the urologist within the clinic who did DH's microdissection, but a specialists' referral expires every 3 months which is a hassle) and because I had been feeling a bit funny, Iasked for BTs to check my levels of various vitamins & minerals. I'd been taking stuff without knowing if I'm deficient in anything or perhaps too high in some things. Anyway, turns out my folic acid is super-high - waaaay off the charts. So I've stopped for now. Don't know if this is bad or not. I emailed it to FS to see what he thinks.

Mrsjag - someone on the Sydney girls thread recommended David Lau in Castle Hill. I've been to him a few times now and he is very nice. It's in his house.

Thank you! Will look him up.
I didn't know you could have too much folic acid - are there side effects to this? I only take Elevit, and my usual Metformin.

I don't know - I'm trying to find out. There was the reference range quoted on the BT results, and the top of the range was 1770. Mine was nearly 2200. A few things I've found through Dr Google - higher susceptibility to certain cancers as high folate levels can switch off some anti-cancer receptors , higher chance of twins if having double embryo transfer with IVF haha, perhaps connection with autism in the child and other things in the child , such as metabolic disorder, insulin resistence, etc. But I don't know if this is just talk with no evidence, and what sort of folate levels they're talking about. However, I'm clearly far from deficient so have stopped for the moment.

I eat a lot of green veggies and have also been taking wheatgrass & royal jelly, as well as taking Elevit for quite a while now - so I'm not surprised it's high. (stopped them all now) Elevit has twice the RDA of folic acid. I understand that making sure a woman has sufficient levels helps to prevent neural tube defects, but that much of it is probably too much for people who are not deficient. It is perhaps aimed at the lowest common denominator who only eat maccas.
