I guess that's a difference with me; as desperately as I want kids, I always wanted to be married first. It sounds superficial, but I knew I did not want a baby or baby belly at my wedding, and I wanted to not feel tired or sick or anything (funnily enough I felt sick from jitters all night anyway! ). I wanted to not have to worry about a child on the day, and to get to wear a dress in whatever style I wanted. Plus I'm fairly traditional and prefer the whole "engagement --> marriage --> babies" timeline.

PLUS we always wanted like 4 kids so we thought the sooner we got going, the better the chance we might be able to have more than one.
I have always said I wanted four kids, but I've reduced that to three now as I think four will end up being impossible in our case. DH would be happy with two if we have a boy and girl, but if we had two of the same he'd be tempted to try a third time. But right now I honestly think we'll be lucky if we actually end up with one healthy bub.

It doesn't sound superficial at all We were the same, we'd prefer to be married first, but we sort of found out this curve ball about being infertile so we sat down and thought that getting going on this treatment should come first. The way its going, there is a very good chance we wont be pregnant before we get married! As DP said last night, if i do take next year off (and am not preggers) i will have more time to plan the wedding

We're the same, we'd be over the moon with one! But we'll try everything we can to have a few. DP's has been offered some international contracts too, so we thought if we were lucky enough to have one ,we might do the ex pat thing and live in the US or Switzerland for a year or so and try and fast track the adoption of a second (or third) child.

Yeah, I suppose it helped for me that I knew about DH's infertility from pretty much when we first started dating. He found out about it when with his ex-wife a few years ago. So as soon as we got engaged we always planned on starting IVF straight after the honeymoon.

DH would love to go live in Scotland or something (somewhere cold!) if he could get a job or work transfer. I don't know how I'd feel about that.. it would be exciting but very scary too. Moving to Brisbane is huge enough for me for the time being! Lol. And I wish that adopting babies was as easy in Australia as it is in other countries. I would still focus on having one myself, as I want to experience pregnancy and childbirth at least once in my life. But after that, if we could complete our family through adoption that would be beautiful. As it is, we will probably be looking at using donor sperm once we run out of DH's frozen stuff.

So, I'm all set. Started Lucrin this morning. It's crazy that just the ONE tiny little bottle is enough to get me through the next few weeks. I mean, it's so small! I know 10 units is nothing, but stills seems weird.

Got a nice new bag to hold all my stuff in, and that has made my day.

Lucrin is a suppressor injection - like Synarel, but in injection form. I'm just starting this round.

Sorry, I must've grabbed an older one - fixed you up now!
