You should've seen the size of the speculum my FS had to use to do my transfer. Eeeeek. I only saw it afterwards, and he said "Yeah, I wasn't going to let you see it before."

My nurse always says, look as much as they try to be supportive, men just have no bloody idea. This time last year if someone had told me i would have had a zillion dildo cams, a giant needle going through the side of my Vjay and countless other examinations and embryo transfers, i dont think i would have believed them! Nothing is sacred anymore.

Our clinic is mostly ladies (who are all really lovely) but one of the scientists is a young guy around my age, SO great when you're in for the embryo transfer, a room full of people looking at your Vjay and he's chatting to me about bands at the big day out, while making sure the embryo has gone in. I guess they see it all, but still, imagine if a guy had to go through that? They would be traumatised it would be worse than man flu, they'd be whinging about it for days

    It so is!!

As for the dignity thing, I remember after my last transfer the FN gave me my pessaries, and I asked "Are these rectal?". When she confirmed, I must have made a face, because she said something like, "I know, there's not a single part of you that we don't touch!" Lol.

You had a room full of people for your transfer? Wow, mine was literally me, DH & my FS. The embryologist was in the next room, put the embryo up on the screen then loaded it into the catapult thing LOL, then brought it in, then left again. It was just the 3 of us in the room, which I'm glad about.

I think i've had my FS, the embryologist, at least one theatre nurse, sometimes the other one pops in. So usually 3 or 4. My DP is always way for my transfers, i think its best actually, he'd probably totally freak out!
