Thanks for the heads up re: Medicare, ladies. I was wondering how we'd go about getting anything back, since Medicare keeps my IVF centre reciept when I claimed back. Fingers crossed we'll get SOMETHING back from it, and all the FS appointments, meds, etc.

I had a panic attack at school today, as I missed a phone call (blocked number) while I was on playground duty. Blocked usually equals WFC, so I was freaking out, since there was no voicemail. Rang hubby, and turns out they rang to push our time from 11.30 to 1.10pm tomorrow for transfer.

Hubby, bless him, he asked how the 3 embies were looking (aw!) and they said they hadn't checked them today, but looked good yesterday. I'm praying they are looking good tomorrow.

The only reason I'm asking is because we actually haven't paid ALL of the out of pocket expenses yet as our clinic has a pay off system. I don't think they would count money you haven't actually paid yet, even though you will pay it eventually.

I made an appointment on Monday to finish my claim anyway, so will see what the go is then.

Hmm, I don't know about that. Yeah, you probably can't claim it if you haven't paid it.

MrsJ - how exciting! How many will you put back? Good luck! And to Luckyme and Princessofhearts too. Is that all for tomorrow? Hope I haven't missed anyone.

I think it'd only be for anything PAID before June 30. Not an expert, though - just a guess.

My clinic has a Single Embryo Transfer policy. Just one for us. I asked for 2 the first time (n/a since we only had 1 left on transfer day 3) and then again this time, but shot down since I'm under 35.

I'm going to ask for 2 this time. I am over 35, it's not my first cycle ... and last time, they discarded 2 embies on day 6 because they weren't good enough to freeze. I was really upset - one was an early blast, they could have transferred it as well if they were only going to throw it in the bin. The fact that the one transferred did implant and then I miscarried at 7 weeks only made that worse. As such, I think I'm a good candidate for 2.

I know my FS is really not a fan, but I think he is more open to it this time because of all of the above. He wrote "1-2" on the form & said we would decide on the day, based on the state of the embies. If we insist he will cave quite easily, I reckon.

Peonies - I'm glad he's open to it. I am prepared to fight if, for example, we have 2 embies that are good... they transfer 1 and are NOT prepared to freeze the remainder. If they're binning it anyway, I'd rather take my chances with 2. For shiz.

    Disney,

You will be only able to claim anything you have paid for by June 31st. The other non paid invoices currently can be used this coming tax in July 2013.

Are you able to go to your chemist and get print outs of any prescriptions you have had over the past 12 mths? These can be counted towards your tax.

As well as if you have phi- any out of pocket expenses can be used to wards your tax.

We always put my health receipts on Dhs tax as he is the bigger earner, it results in more back in our pockets.

    Good luck

MrsJ - well, I don't know how open to it he is ... he's pretty gung-ho on the single transfer. But I definitely detected a slightly softer stance at the consultation we had after my m/c, where we planned out this cycle. So any tiny softening I'm going to milk!

Also, my DH is a twin AND there's another set of twins in his family. 5 boys, only one singleton. Especially as we're using donor sperm, I feel if we did have twins it would be something to give a bit of a connection and synergy with DH and his family. That sounds a bit looney.

I'm glad that your FS is open to more than one embie being transferred, peonies I know a number of girls who are going to the Fertility Clinic up here in Brisbane (it's the clinic that uses some of the specialists from QFG and is loads cheaper) have been upset because they have a strict 1 embryo rule. Our FS mentioned the clinic to us, but for a number of reasons we've chosen to stay with Warren.

I'm fortunate in that Warren is quite encouraging regarding 2 x ETs. I don't think he's like that with all his patients, but i'm almost 35 with a lowish AMH and i think he's a little more open to it than other specialists when it comes to women with similar circumstances to me. We had 2 put back last time and will have 2 put back the next time I stim.

I thought i was ovulating today, so did an OPK test and it was negative for LH. Bummer
