    Default What are running prams?

    Hi guys

I have just taken up running and have a 14 month old.
I have been running on the treadmill but would like to go outside however have been told that running with any old pram is not recommended. Are there prams specifically for running? If so how are they different and why is running with a "normal" pram not advised?
Currently I have a bugaboo chameleon (sp?)
    Thanks guys

I don't have one but from what I gather they have different wheels, wheel base, weight, other features etc. Check out this page on the cool running forum, it's got a few recommendations.

Mountain buggy seems to get a few good mentions.

Good luck with the running, btw. I took it up 2 years ago and I've never looked back. (and running outside is so much better than a treadmill
    IMO)

I have a Moutain Buggy Terrain, which is suitable for running, and compared to other 'normal' prams it has bigger rear wheels for stability and independant suspension which makes it nice and smooth. It has a wide wheel base, but no wider than many other non-running prams like the Strider. It's also my everyday pram and it handles beautifully in shopping centres, can get it on public transport etc. I love my MB, can't fault it
