Default 4 failed IVF cycles.... new FS

    Hi

I was wondering if anyone can offer me some advice......

DH & I have had 4 failed IVF cycles. 2 x fresh and 2 x frozen. Each cycle we have had average quality embryos of a grade 3 (QFG rating). has anyone had any success with QFG grade 3 embryos?

We have a appointment with a new FS Monday to ask for a second opinion. Does anyone have any advise as to what questions I should ask?
I feel so lost about what to do next. I just don’t understand why it hasn’t work yet.

My current FS advised me he wouldn’t do any further investigation till we used all 5 frosties and done another fresh ivf cycle. he thinks its a numbers game.

Thanks for taking the time to look at this post.

    Take care

I had 4 failed cycles and my fs told me the exact same thing. I changed clinics immediately. New fs was on it, did all the testing and found my issues and got me pregnant

Nicole83 - im currently located in North Queensland with QFG. The new FS i'm seeing is also with QFG. The nurses also mentioned to me it was a excellent idea to have fresh eyes look over our file. I'm happy to PM if you his name of our current FS?

Mrs P - Thanks for your story. If you dont mind me asking what did your FS find?

I forgot to say the last 2 cycles they think I had a chemical pregnancy as HCG came back at mid 20's and kept dropping. I just hope the new Fs and see whats happening.

I am with qfg too which is why I asked. But I am in Brisbane with warren de Ambrosis. I was going to suggest if you are in Brisbane to see him. He never does the same cycle unless it's actually achieved a pregnancy in the past. I would definitely go get a second opinion. Ivf is too expensive to keep doing the same thing time after time. Yes you may be better off using your frosties first but perhaps it's another issue like nk cells or low progesterone in which case they can put you on clexane and prednisone and give you progesterone support through out the tww. But given that you are already with qfg you may have tried these things.

Thanks Nicole83, I have herd some fantastic stories about Dr Ambrosis. See what this new FS has to say and it may be a option to have a chat with Dr Ambrosis.
You are very correct IVF is not cheap and we are also using donor sperm. That’s $900 per vial. Unfortunately we don’t have a endless supply.
I will have a chat to FS about claxine. I might have to do some google on that. After transfers i’m only on pessaries and cronine (terrible stuff)

    wishing you all the test

Default 4 failed IVF cycles.... new FS

    Hi,

Just thought I would pop in for a update.
The 5th transfer FET we had our DS in 2013. To achieve a pregnancy we done a endo scratch first. Ended up with 2 hatching blast AA grade.

We went back for another FET (transfer 6) in March 2015 and was a negative.

In November 2015 we went for a full ivf cycle ( transfer 7) with gonal f, luveris, cetrotide, clexane and prednisolone with cronine. This cycle we transferred 2 early grade BB blasts with a negative pregnancy test.

We have 2 hatching blasts graded BB in the freezer. I have to go back to the specialist to see what to do next.

I guess my question is... Can anyone think of why my little embryos are not implanting?

We are at the stage we only have one vile of donor Sperm in the freezer for one more fresh cycle.

I feel lucky to have DS but the urge to have another baby is just like trying for number one.

Thanks to anyone who reads this xx

I should also add we have a spot to chat with Wazza at QFG in March 2016.

I would suggest Wazza as well. I am in north QLD and I fly down to see him. He is very good. In my opinion he is the best. I literally just got of the phone to him having a chat about my next course of action. Honestly to me (and I am no expert) it sounds like you may have embryo quality issues but is saying that you did get a BFP before and IVF can be a bit of a numbers game. Also have you been tested for immune issues like killer cells by your FS? I have has 11 embryos transferred not all were with Wazza just the last three were and haven't had any success yet well no live babies and my embryos have always been highly graded all have been 5AB or 5BB's but Wazza has told me a few times that for me it is embryo quality issues so definately go and see him. He is honest and will give it to you straight. If he thinks you have a chance he will tell you so and vica versa. Plus he will do extra testing on you if he thinks that anything has been missed before he starts treatment.

    Thanks for the reply Maxwellsmum.

When I had a scratch with the current FS he said he sent it away and came back fine. I'm unsure if that means he tested for NK cells. I must investigate this.

I have a feeling you are on track with the embryo quality. It worries me as it must be my eggs as we use imported Sperm of fantastic quality.

I've always had super low progesterone every cycle. My FS thinks progesterone can't always be tracked well in blood. But I have a feeling this may be contributing to something.

It will be interesting to hear what Wazza has to say on our situation.

Thanks again for your reply x
