I'm absolutely hurting from laughter. BRILLIANT! DH nearly snorted coffee out of his nose when he read the "A wild crossing guard appears" part.

    He's a geek. Lmao.

The first few times I just talked to him, going along with it, but when it's time for me to go he ignores me when I say goodbye and just keeps talking.

Socially, what is a polite way of saying "Never ever talk to me. Ever"?

    Help?
Sorry, but LMAO at him actually tapping your book with his lollypop stick.. and the image of you walking along with your head in a book... lol.. strange.

There's a crossing lady who works at my DS's old school.. she was SOOOO irritating! She would say "wait for whistle" if I attempted to cross before she had blown it.. like, she had walked out into the centre of the road, the traffic had stopped and she had her sign up, but if I even started to put one foot forward she would sing "wait for the whistle", blow it, then allow me to cross. i understand doing this for the kids, but for an adult, alone? It happened so often that I just crossed before I got to her crossing. And she'd stare me down from her post, like "how dare you cross without my supervision!"

Yes, a guy who works at my local Safeway checkout is exactly like that. He's a big guy, maybe 120kg's and people snigger and laugh at him, but he's oblivious to it all.. he will talk about comic books, star wars, what he had for dinner the night before.. all while he serves you.
