be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.

No, not for viruses. As pp's have said AB's can't help when it's a virus.

But if the virus turns into a secondary infection then yes, he will if he feels we need it. He avoids them though whenever possible.

Antibiotics don't work for virus's only bacterial infections.
As frustrating as it is the flu like virus can take many weeks to run it's course.
Blessed with 2, hoping for 3. Back on the IVF train.

You may be a little confused by the GP.

Anti biopics are ONLY for bacterial infections. They will do absolutely NOTHING for viral infections. Most colds are viruses, so having antibugs will do nothing for your cold.

Resistance is increasing for antibiotics. This is due to antibiotics being given out very easily, usually for a virus. Bugs are coming into contact with these anti biopics and are getting more resistant. Meaning the drugs we used to use to kill off these bacteria, are not working anymore. Hospitals are seeing more and more resistant bacteria getting around, and they are getting harder to eradicate.

I am all for antibiotics if needed, but if I have a virus, there is nothing I can do about it. I need to ride it out.
Yes, this. I have been told the same by my GP's over the years
