Default hate having prospective buyers walking through my house

Yes I know it's on the market

yes I know I rent it

    but I hate it...

having people walking through my house, opening my cupboards and then having to calm Gabriel down when he gets anxious thinking "where are we going to live?"

    hate it.

    Hope they hate the house.

    Please leave now people..........

oh hun that sucks. are they selling specifically to investors or people who want to live in it themselves? we have had 3 rentals sold on us in the past and each time we had to move out as they didn't renew our lease. its a giant pain. fingers crossed it sells soon to an investor so you don't have to move and people stop coming in.

I hope it sells to an investor. It absolutely sucks when they show through people who want to live in it. I even overheard them telling one couple "look how they've set it up... with the office and them in one end of the house and all the kids down the other, it's a great space for that"... F OFF!! Don't use my layout to sell my kids home!

    grr....

We have a lease till June 30... and we just signed the new one till Dec 31.... HOPING that anyone other than investors will be put off by having to wait 8 months before takeover..... HOPING that investors will go, yep, good tenants, want to be here long-term... lets buy it.

    *sigh*

I don't think there are any rental houses that aren't on the market in our town

Depending on what state you live in the new buyers have the right to break the lease in qld they had to give us 30 days notice

And it's so hard coz I can't work-full time as we've got 3 little kids at home and there is no work for DH out here (not that it matters coz he's full-time uni student anyway right now)... but in a couple of years when we've only got to pay childcare for ONE child, I'd be more than happy to just take a teaching posting.... ANYWHERE... But they all seem to only have 'single accommodation available' totally sucks...

Just want to stay here right now... get all the kids to school age, pick up supply teaching when it comes up coz I have contacts here, let DH finish his degree... I don't just want to hop around town to houses which are all on the market.

I didn't think they could do that? A contract it a contract... they shouldn't be allowed to break it. I've asked and they've said that they can't have takeover before our lease is up... BUT if we were willing to break lease so they could have early takeover that would be okay.

I'm just hoping they look at some other houses and go "wow that other house was actually really small and cramped... with dark rooms"

Yes, it is... it is small and cramped with dark rooms... but the two kids rooms are fabulous and the distance to the park and school is fantastic, and the yard is perfect... for what I need. ...

I wouldn't buy the house myself, there are heaps better houses out there, but I like renting it. If I could buy it I have loads of renovating ideas.

I've been in your situation in two different rental properties I lived in, both times the buyers purchased the property to live in themselves Back then though, it was a renters market and we had plenty of other rentals to choose from.

I remember going nuts with the cleaning every Saturday morning before each open house. I remember coming home after an open house to find some strangers wee sitting unflushed in my toilet

No part of the process is fun for the tenant. I hope an investor buys and you and your family can say on

Like I said it just depends on the state you live in maybe call the rental tribunal agency in your area for peace of mind
