Default No honey for under 1 year olds?

Just checking if anyone knows the latest recommendations for honey and babies under one?

A few years ago with my DSs it was no honey under one so was still wondering of that was true?

DD (6mo) loves crumpets and I really want to give her a honey crumpet!

Pretty sure it's still no honey for under 1.

I gave it to DS at about 10/11 months but that's closer to 1 than your DD.

No honey due to a risk of infant botulism (sp?)

Organic honey ? I'd do some research ! I have always fed all my kids basically anything they wanted from around 6 months and last time I checked they all lived, have no allergies and have never had a 'bad' reaction to anything !

Hehe she doesn't know what she's missing, plenty of time left in her life to eat honey!

Honey in any form is not recommended. It's not an allergy thing. There is a toxin in honey that can be fatal to children under the age of 1 (not via an allergic reaction). I won't risk it.
