    Default Carpal Tunnel help!!!

When pregnant with DS I got carpal tunnel syndrome at around 20 weeks then went away about 4 days after he was born. I am 22 weeks pregnant and its back with vengeance. Wake up all night with numb buring hands. In the morning I cant close my right hand for awhile because its so stiff and SO painful. I wear the splints, they do seem to help but my hands still go numb. I cant even brush my hair without my right hand going numb. Driving my hands go numb. What has anyone else done to relieve the pain? Are steroid injections allowed while pregnant?

    Hi
I had C.T with both my pregnancies too.
I used one of the wrist support thingies, and slept with my hand elevated to the side of me on a cushion. I only got it badly in my right hand. The wrist support was good if I had it adjusted to the right tension. So I had to readjust it a few times throughout each night as it would loosen and be pointless.

What I found helped the most once the numbness and pain were set in, was a hot wheatbag. I just wrapped it around my wrist and it brought almost instant relief.
Try to limit computer time too, as it doesn't help with prevention

I had very mild CTS with DD1 and then like you, it came back 10 x worse with DD2...

I ended up seeing a physio just the once, and then also used a wrist splint and ice, and the hot wheat bag and a lot of massage.

As soon as DD2 was born, it vanished, LOL!
