    Default Spotting

Hi all, I am 8weeks today and have been getting a day of spotting week since week 5. The day always varies and seems to appear after I've been out walking or busy all day with no rest time.

I have had scans each week and have a strong little heartbeat but I'm scared every time I go to the bathroom that I'm going to lose bub. My last was an ectopic (this one definitely isn't). Can anyone put my mind at ease??

I was always told that spotting or cramping on their own is normal, it's just when you have both at once you should worry.

Maybe go see your GP and ask for a few bloods to be done so you can check your HCG levels? Or ask for another scan as the spotting is worrying you?

    Good luck xx

Thanks Anjalee, I have had scans each week and the little heart beat is going strong but I woke up this morning to spotting and obgyn isn't open until tomorrow and I don't want to drive him nuts!

I don't have bad cramps and spotting together but I feel like this is suppose to be our bub and know that i won't feel relieved until they are in my arms...

Has anyone had spotting each week?

    first of all.

I had cramping, spotting & bleeding throughout this entire pregnancy, i also had low HCG levels & was told there wasn't much chance, i spent a lot of this pregnancy in hospital, having frequent blood tests, scans etc & physically & emotionally, it has been very draining. But bubs is very healthy & i'm now 3 days overdue Please try not to worry until there's something to worry about. Good luck

Thank you, that is reassuring, my hcgs were high 909 16Dpo which is good. Fingers crossed!

Congratulations on bub! Best of luck and if you get too uncomfy, see a kinesiologist to help induce using pressure points!

Hon, I feel your pain. Before my first successful pregnancy I had two ectopics and a miscarriage. And I know that the minute u see spotting, your mind goes to the darkest place possible

Please try not to worry - spotting is apparently quite common in early pregnancy. Two of my close girlfriends had spotting till about 20 weeks. My last pregnancy (my DD is now 20 months) I also had spotting in first tri- rushed to OB but all was fine. My current pregnancy at 11 weeks I had a gush of blood-tinged water and then period like bleeding for days - but baby was fine!! Strong heartbeat and everything... I came on here and had ppl telling me their experiences with bleeding, as well as their positive outcomes

So if ur scans are fine, spotting is nothing to worry about. But get as much reassurance as you need from your OB and GP - anything to keep you sane i invested in a Doppler last pregnancy and that helped me get through a number of freak outs and I annoyed my OB with a billion calls. But I did what I needed to for reassurance, its better for baby to have a calm mummy

Wise words!! That's what the receptionist at my OB told me, she bled through both her pregnancies!

I had spotting with both pregnancies (have a 2yr old and am 27 wks) from about 5-10 weeks on and off. No cramping so I was told not to worry...still did though!

Try not to worry. Get a blood test and another scan if u can, just to put ur mind at ease.

Thank you to all the replies! Very wise words and I really appreciate your personal journeys.

I do try to stay as calm as possible but being my first (esp after an ectopic) its hard not to get a little worried, my obgyn is going to give me another ultrasound tomorrow and will happily give them to me every week if I need it, but I just wish I didn't even have to think about it.

I haven't had any bad cramps lately, so that is good - it won't feel real until I'm holding little bub in my arms in 7 months time. All the best and again, many thanks!
