Anyway, not that I should have had to justify myself just thought I would put across what the situation was actually like.

To everyone else, thankyou, the police contacted me and they have recieved the report from the hospital, i'll be going in tomorrow when the kids are in daycare to give a statement and it will go from there. Thanks again for all the support and wishes, DS1 is fine, i'm still pretty annoyed/angry/upset about the situation but feel like i'm doing the right thing.
Just saw this- glad you have the police involved. Best of luck for the rest of the process.

Sorry this happened to you and your son.

I would have done the same as you.
If this guy can bite another child whilst the child's parents are around I would hate to think what he might be capable of, if by chance he wound up with a child alone for a few mins.

You said your ds also has bruising?
I would take some more photos of the bruising as days go by if you aren't already.

So sorry this happened to your son

Good on you for going to the hospital and getting it reported, that would have been hard to do. I would be so upset! Hope you all feel better soon.

I personally would call the police, but still emphasize the fact that the guy has a mental problem due to an accident. That way the cops dont just rush in and arrest him and trigger some kind of erratic and out of control reaction from this guy. The police would have to organize a mental health worker or psychiatrist to be available when the guy is being questioned.
I believe people with such an illness need to be treated differently from the real full on criminals who murder people for fun.

Let's hope he wont do this ever again with any other child. Poor kid

Good to hear that the Police are ontop of it now and that you can go in and give your statement. I hope DS is okay and not too sore and that you can get some resolution and the opportunity to wind down from the incident.
