I wouldn't call the police..I wouldn't have my child around that person..after the first incident you mentioned (pushing and C word)..I think you should have been more aware what kind of person this guy is...

Seriously? He hurt the child, he BIT the child and broke his skin and YOU blame the parents?

Until he did this he was just a rude person, now he has illegally assaulted the child

Besdie which, reporting is out of their hands as the hospital reported it.

I haven't read all the posts but I would definitely report this to the police. I briefly saw someone mention to take him to the hospital to allow the incident to be formally recorded. I don't mean to worry u but since it drew blood I would also definitely get a blood test ASAP to check that this man hasn't passed on anything to your son from biting him. I'm so sorry this has happened to your son! I would be distraught. I hope your son is ok x

ETA: yes lots of people have already said this after reading but I was in a rush when posting

Yes, I did ask what would you do in this incident, not what would you have done to prevent it. How was I to know he would actually physically harm my child. Also, I had no idea he was at my parents house when we arrived(as he is their friend and it is their house), they were playing fine and then the next moment he bit my son, it wasn't something any of us expected, there are thousand of a$$holes in the world but you don't expect them to actually inflict pain, how am I supposed to explain to a 4year old that he can't play with X because mummy doesn't like him, I kept a close eye on them, like I said, one second they were playing, the next hit bit him.

Anyway, not that I should have had to justify myself just thought I would put across what the situation was actually like.

To everyone else, thankyou, the police contacted me and they have recieved the report from the hospital, i'll be going in tomorrow when the kids are in daycare to give a statement and it will go from there. Thanks again for all the support and wishes, DS1 is fine, i'm still pretty annoyed/angry/upset about the situation but feel like i'm doing the right thing.

She asked wwyd about the incidence, AFTER the assault, seeing that the injury has already occurred.

Police link can't give any sort of medical advice. They can only take reports by phone and organise for police to attend your home. Exactly what 000 does but for non urgent matters.
OP- id go to the police and the hospital.
