Meshell one word come to mind and that is 'tool'. Clearly one very confused lad there, here's hoping some poor woman doesn't have to experience the process with him one day

Hope this awesome thread about what people say to ivfer's is still running. The best thing I heard from my very fertile friend (5 kids) was she believes that overly fertile women is just as bad as being infertile!!! I said the difference is all you have to do is close your legs, and I have to go through years of things not natural going into my areas!!!

That's a very good idea. She should totally go through a stim cycle to donate her eggs, and then she'd have a view of both experiences.

As a big laugh over fertile is scared of needles, so donating eggs, she could never do!!! But again like she said over fertile and infertile are as bad as each other!!! Although she has 5 beautiful children to kiss goodnight, I have crinone to introduce into my cervix!!!!

Wow she wouldn't cope with the South African regime I have been injecting intramuscular progesterone oil into my bum for the past 8 weeks with 2 more to go ( and quickly running out of space due to the residual lumps), having Crinone x3 day (which as we all know is like disintegrated cottage cheese on its way out) and injecting Clexane for the past 10 weeks. That said, I don't in anyway wish for this to be viewed as a complaint. At this moment, I am one of the most blessed and happiest people on the planet, with today's scan showing the Springbok very active and happy.

Reading through these posts I have had a bit of a chuckle.
Some people just can't seem to find the right things to say.

When DH and I told a mutual friend about our situation, he responded by directly looking at my DH and saying "so, shooting blanks hey?"

Luckily by that stage we had already heard it all, and knew that everyone reacted differently, so we just brushed it off - but really, I still can't believe that that was the best he could respond with?!

So rude! I would have gone ballistic, even though DH's fertility was fine! So damn insensitive!

This reminds me of DHs friend saying "so you do have some lead in your pencil" after we told him we were expecting. Yes he did know we were doing IVF. Some people are idiots...

Some people just have no idea!
Last night I had another doozy - a friend who just got married was talking about when she wanted to start having kids. Again, knowing about our situation, she said - 'it's just so hard to decide when to have a baby, between holidays and special occasions, sometimes I think it's just easier to not have one at all'. I wish my biggest problem was trying to decide when the right time to have a baby is! Times like that I just have to remind myself of the supportive things people have said too.
