"You'll look back on all of this one day and laugh."

Remind me to use that one if you ever have a family member die/ ever go through the worst period of your life.

"I think I had an easy time conceiving because I'm such a laid back person."

    Implying...????

And I know this one has been said before but "You can have mine!" Okay. Deal.

I think after we had success the weirdest comment was to DH 'at least you know your swimmers work...'. They had to stir his sperm around twice to get anything out if it. Very close to using donor sperm

Wow girls this is an amazing thread.

I do have to say, stuck here in bed with yet another threatened miscarriage, your postings have brought a smile to my face in that, it is amazing that the world appears to be full of these lay people who are fertility experts.

If I had a dollar for every time I have heard any of the following, it could have at least paid for one of our cycles:

    'you just need to relax'
'i know a couple and they tried IVF for years. Then they decided to give up and when they stopped trying she fell pregnant'
'You should just go on a holiday'
'maybe it's the universes way of saying it's meant to be'

Oh and my favorite after deciding to go to South Africa for egg donation:
'does that mean you are going to have a black baby.'

    WTF is wrong with people?????????

    Oh and one more:

'At least you know you can get pregnant'.

Having had two previous miscarriages and a current threatened one, with no children such advice is NOT reassuring.

    Thanks girls x

Exactly, what does race matter anyway. I just thought it was a really ignorant thing for people to say, even a nurse at my fertility clinic asked!!!
