Omg! That's terrible! And yet the government cuts hospital funding. With ds1 I had an episitomy and the worst case of hemorrhoids an ob of 30 years had ever seen and they didn't want me to go home without staying for at least 4 nights. I guess I got lucky

Oh dear! I had heamorroids also, was terrible and it still bleeds now. I also couldn't BF because.no midwife showed me and dd wouldnt latch on. When i got home i had a LC come see me but by then dd was already used to bottles and formula and hated my milk

I was in hospital for 5 days after DS was born by emergency c-section. I should have been in longer, had a nasty infection in the wound. But they needed the bed. So out I went. Public hospital.

Probably would have ended up back in there for another couple of weeks if I hadn't ended up going to my GP who saw the problem instantly and organised the injections I needed.

6 nights after my emergency CS. Part of me was relieved to go home as I had been in hospital for 2 1/2 weeks prior to birth, but having to leave DS in the hospital SCN ripped my heart out. I was inconsolable.

I was in for two nights after having DS. The quickest discharge from my hospital (public) would be 6 hours. I had to stay so they could monitor my bp. It was pretty quiet on the ward and I could've stayed another night if I wanted.

For me it was 36 hours (2 nights) for a vaginal birth in a public hospital.

I was in a private hospital, i had a cesar with both boys and had 7 days with each. Mostly because ds1 wasn't breastfeeding well and ds2 was terribly jaundice and very sleepy, but also because i live in a rural isolated area and it's 220km from the hospital. Im having a cesar again this time and hoping if all goes well ill only have to have 5-6 days, but my obstetrician said "we'll see about that " im not too concerned the hospital i go to is lovely!!

I stayed 5 nights after DD was born at a private hospital. The standard was 4 nights but she was having difficulty feeding and my milk was late coming through so we stayed another night.

3 nights with DD after a forceps/epidural/minor tear birth.
10 hours after DS natural drug free no tear birth.
Both public, they provided everything for bubs except for disposable nappies, and clothes.
