Hi everyone and congrats on your twin pregnancies. I'm not sure how I have missed this thread until now. I'm 22 weeks with fraternal twins. One is definitely a girl and the other most likely a girl but she was being very ladylike and not opening her legs!! I also ds who is 22 months.

I'm wondering with those of you who already have a child what brand of carseats you are getting to fit 3 in?? With prams I am looking at getting the steelcraft strider plus. I don't want a double pram as I find it hard enough getting my Phil and teds sport through a lot of shops. The strider takes two newborns where a lot of the others are toddler/newborn. I was so organized with ds that I got the second seat for when I had the next, never expecting it to be twins.

I am not having a lot of movement, nothing like with ds but I've been told that is normal as they don't have the room to do somersaults like singletons do. I also was severely sick until about 13 weeks. I actually lost 3kgs because nothing would stay down.

I have joined the amba on Facebook, it's great to hear the advice of mums who have done this. Because let's face it, it's very different to having a singleton. So much more to think about. My family and inlaws are all in NZ (I think dancingtren said hers were too) so the first few months will be an interesting time.

Hope you don't mind I have invaded your thread. Don't suppose any of you are near the hunter valley??

    Hey Reils!
    Welcome! Invade away!!!

I didn't know AMBA were on FB, I will have to look them up!!

Yes - it's totally different I'm finding, and I'm also finding people don't get that or understand just how sick I've been (still going a bit at 16 wks).

Congrats on being at 22 wks - what's your due date?

Look forward to hearing more from you - I don't have any other kids, so can't help with the car seat issue!!

    Hey welcome,
I invaded too and now I won't shut up, it's nice to have a place to talk about what your going through and what's on your mind.

I have a Zuzu for DS and I'd just brought an old one off a friend because I was looking after a little boy for a while but I'll now use it for one of the bubs, it's a safe n sound not sure what we'll get for the 3rd one. I like ones that turn coz I'm not keen on buying different ones the Zuzu should last till DS is about 4 at least. The one from my friend lasted her DD until she was 4 but I am told that car seats have a used by date. (I need to find out more about that)

I will probably join the amba Facebook page once we tell everyone coz people see what you join there are some people I haven't told yet so they would ask questions.

I'm just wondering what you mean by the Phil and Ted sports having trouble getting through a lot of shops? I thought all Phil and Ted prams were seated one on top of the other, the one my friend has is slimmer than the single one I have and she can fit 2 kids. I wish that they had a 3 sweater like that coz I'm worried about getting through doors or even the isle at the supermarket checkout.

Woohoo on 22 weeks and knowing that at least one is a girl, so exciting. I can't wait to find out what I am having :-) oh to be honest I just can't wait till the next scan it feels like its taking forever to get here. I still have another week to wait. Just nice to see them and see that everything is going well.

Glad you morning sickness was over at 13 weeks I'm finding that I am sooo tired all the time, did you feel tired? Did that end too if you did ??

Anyone tried to do one of the tests that tell you the sex of your baby??? I know they aren't accurate but it's just for a bit of fun... Wonder how they would work for twins.

BigZ - the phil and teds are one on top of the other but some shops have their walkways too close together and it's a struggle to get through. But I guess you would get this with most other prams as well. One I was surprised at was Big W, I had to lift the pram up to get through the checkout. Even the lady on the checkout said how stupid it was the aisles weren't wide enough. Also my tiredness has seemed to have stopped and I think I might be nesting already. Spent the weekend spring cleaning the house, washed the walls and skirtings, cleaned the car, washed baby clothes, shifted by little boy into his new room. What I really think it is, is after being confined to the couch or bed I want to make sure I get some of the jobs that need doing done in case I go early or I get sick again.

    23 weeks today, YAY!!!

Have to go have the GTT test on Thursday. Now that is going to be 2 hours of my life I'll never get back!!

    How is everyone feeling?

I'm feeling pretty rubbish at the moment. My morning sickness seems to be almost over (touch wood!) but since last Wednesday I have had a chest infection and I woke up with the flu on the weekend. So I'm a cranky pregnant woman at the moment driving everyone in my life crazy.

nothing worse than being pregnant and sick blackduck! i had a bad cold when about 11 wks pregnant and for a week thought i was going to die... hope your better soon.
reils hi and welcome to the thread! and congrats on your pregnancy i also have a 2 yr old and am expecting twins (currently 17 wks pregnant). i have the issue of trying to fit 3 seats in my car. i have a holden astra wagon which is quite narrow. what i did was went to kidsafe (think there is one in most states but not sure if there is where you are) and they trialled a few different combinations to work out what would fit. we ended up getting my ds a new booster seat and selling his old convertible and capsule which were too big, and we have layby'ed 2 safe n sound lifestyle seats which are quite a narrow convertible seat. thank goodness we didnt have to ge a new car as we only bought this one when i was pregnant with ds!
yay on being 23wks and good luck with the gtt test.

afm im feeling good, impatiently waiting for dh to finish the room that will then be ds's so i can start buying the furniture for it and move him in. i told him i want everything sorted by the time im 25 wks so its done with (hopefully) plenty of time before these babies are due. a lady at work whos daughter had twins has a swing and rocker/bouncer she wants to sell so i might get those off her. cots and carseats are layby'ed, a few clothes bought. but like most of you the pram is still a big issue/problem. im just not sure if the tandem baby jogger city select will work for twins after reading a few peoples comments on here and the AMBA forum! but a side by side will not fit through our pedestrian gate out front or our front door (we tried a baby jogger city mini). and i could barely lift the mountain buggy duet which is supposed to be the smallest side by side there is. and of course thats not even considering a 3 seater for ds who will be 2.5... ugh. it gives me a headache thinking about it...

I'm feeling horrible today. I had a horrible sleep, I had a little spew this morning which is never fun, I feel sorry for those of you that throw up a lot. I just want to lay on the couch and watch movies all day and fall asleep but I can't. I'm hungry but the thought of food is making me feel sick, my mum came for a 5 minute visit and I almost threw up at the smell of her perfume. I can't be bother doing anything but I should be doing the dishes, getting tea ready and washing clothes. The kitchen floor needs a good clean too but I just can't get motivated. DS was a struggle to get to sleep this afternoon and he's just about due for another nap so he's just going to have to wait till DH is home coz this afternoons effort wore me out. Thankfully he should only be another half hour. And today will just be a right-off for me. Hope everyone else is having a better day.
