Default Essentials to pack during labour?

Hey all, I'm due in 3 weeks for my first and just wanted to ask all the mummies out there, what came in really handy during labour that the books don't tell you you need to bring? I've been double, even triple checking the list of things needed in my labour bag but I'm scared I'll miss out on something really important. Books don't always tell you everything, experience does

    Yay! How exciting!!!!

Definitely take lip balm. A change of clothes to put on when you have a shower after the birth but before you go to the ward. Food and snacks (pack lots) and water. A magazine or book. Maybe some moisturiser. Sanitary pads. Hmmm I can't think of anything else.

Hair ties totally forgot to pack any spares but the one in my hair. Took it out and lost it mid labour. Very annoying

I took a shower cap. And speakers for my iPod so we could play music.
