Hi all, a few people have mentioned to me that I may wish to try a baby chiro for my 6 month old's suspected food allergies. I suspect that it is cows milk allergy, but until he is allowed to start solids again theres no way of determining whether some food is causing an issue - long story short, he would get a red spotty rash (not raised) on his trunk and chest intermittently, straight after we started him on solids at about 4.5 - 5 months. I wish I could say that he didnt have these symptoms when he was BF or on early days of formula. Horrible to say but I may never have noticed it. He would have intermittent reactions to most foods - ie sometimes he would get the rash, sometimes not. My thoughts were that he could not possibly be allergic to so many foods and figured the common denominator was formula. We have gone from reg formula to soy, to hyper allergenic. H/Allergenic appears to have made the reaction subside somewhat however again this is intermittently. The rash has only ever appeared for a maximum of 15-20 mins and has dissapeared. Paed has given me a script for Neocate Advance however wants me to give another week of HA formula. Anyway, back to the original point. I am struggling to understand how chiro could assist with possible allergies as his diagnosis has not yet been confirmed as he has not yet had testing. I rang a paediatric chiro tonight and he has encouraged me to come in for a spinal check for DS however suggested that milk allergies are extremely hard to treat from a chiropractic perspective. Does anyone have any idea why people are suggesting this for my DS and what benefit it may have? I imagine it would have something to do with his immune system but I dont understand how that correlates with his back/neck.
    TIA x

It won't help! I'm a believer in baby chiro & oesto's (I've used for tongue-tie, preferred head side etc) but if your bub has allergies then I can't see how this would help at all. My DS is allergic to dairy and soy too.

Perhaps you have gotten confusing advice as many people do believe they can help with feeding issues (poor attachment etc). But an allergy is an allergy, it's internal so to speak, so a different type of 'feeding' issue.

Hi, I don't have any bubs yet but am almost 8weeks, and I see a kinesiologist/chiro and she has help immensely with all ailments including allergies. Often picking up issues before drs or blood tests!

If you want details for a fabo one in Sydney let me know.

Yes,they are great!! Ihave been taking DS2 and DS3 fortnightly for the last couple of months. DS3 has improved dramatically sleep wise. They both have reflux, food intolerances, and both are a lot more comfortable after a visit!!!
