I do think it is a function of getting older.

My personal viewpoint was that the longer you have lived, the more "past" you have as a reference point, which is why time seems to be going faster, because the same increment of time is a smaller fraction of your total past than previously when you had a smaller past.

Now I wonder if someone who is older but has less of a "past" in their memory will experience time going faster. At first I thought there would be no way to test this, then I remembered my mother when she was in the early stages of dementia (and a lot of her past memories were inaccessible to her). She would complain about things taking forever - little things, like how long it takes for a traffic light to change for red to green. (She was frequently urging me to run a red light that we were stopped at because it must be broken and was never going to change. I would respond that we "only needed to wait a little longer" and then it would switch to green.)

Every year just seems to go faster than the previous! My ds1 was 4 a few weeks ago and ds1 turned 1... Didn't I just give birth yesterday?

Yeah, I think it must happen as you get older.

I remember Mum saying, "We're only staying for half an hour," and it seemed like forever!

Now 1/2 hour is over so quickly!
I've now lost 36kg thanks to the gastric sleeve!

Thats. Interesting sweet seven. Hmm, im going to store that in my "contemplate later" files hehe.

I wonder if having a count down to something makes time feel slower?

2 years ago i joined a health fund and had a 12 month waiting period for elective surgery. That felt like it took forever!!!!!!! But then i had it and the year that followed has whizzzzed by.

Im going to be 29 this year too! In july! I dont mind so much. But my children are growing so fast, ds#2, my wittle teeny tiny baby, is now a big almost three year old (3 next month) i still remember swaddling him and putting him in his bassinette, and now he walks past me and says 'mum, this sausage roll is awesome" awesome? Awesome? Whats next? He will be telling me i cant hold his hand anymore because it embarrasses him? (yes ds#1 7.5yrs told me this last month )
