It is still a vote buyer. Otherwise it would have just been implemented at the same time as the carbon tax.
Let's face it, how many ppl will have any of the payment left when the last bills for the year come in the mail?

    I'm sorry about your DH

My brother is improving, but still has a long way to go. Meanwhile I have my mum here, fuel has increased with 3 trips to the hospital each day, I also feed my mum breakfast and tea, mention of her contributing only took me on the path to a guilt trip.

I got a notice from Centrelink today to say it will be $139 paid next week

I appreciate any bonus but with the cost of living increasing like it is many need a helping hand.

Hi... I think there will be a additional lump sum clean energy supplement for single income family's, with a middle income of(68k -150k??) paid in July 2013... of around $300

To support familys who may not benefit from the new tax cuts, as opposed to dual income familys...

Saying that, I think the second earner can still earn up to 18k and the family will still qualify..

DH is on 95k and im on SAHM so i am hoping this may apply to us because DH tax refunds are nearly nil and every bit of assistance will help...

No because this is more a advance of part of the payment over the next 12 months to help people get ready for the carbon tax

Does anyone know if you have over-estimated your income if you get any $$ back paid from the advance?
Also are the tax breaks people earning under 80k getting starting the 2012/2013 financial year or not until 13/14 tax year?

exactly it is to help rising bill costs but i would think 90% of the ppl will just spend it without saving it to place onto there quarterly bills

ppl need to grow up the amount of comments i have seen on here saying things like "what a rip off i only got $200" or " i have things i need to buy and they only gave me $320 " these comments are so frustrating the money was onyl announced as being paid last month so take it as a frggin bonus and stop thinking the government owe you all a favour
Let's be realistic here though, $140 to a family of 4 to cover rising water bills, electricity, food, & petrol ! Is to me pretty bad! I do think that any bonus is a bonus but to growing family it only covers say 2 weeks of our electricity bill or 1 month of water usage or one tank of fuel or 1 weeks food shopping! I was not only disappointed for my family but for the government to think it would truly help families !

I think it is to help not make up for. If you take the amount they give you then divide it up of the difference in what you were paying and what now maybe it will make more sense cant know until the costs go up tho

I suppose it would be better that the government say tough luck then maybe people wouldnt be disappointed in what little they recieve
