Default How many follicles are too many?

    Hi Ladies,
I had my first CD 9 U/S yesterday and I was warned that due to my PCOS I could end up with OHSS, which I understand is just awful, not only does it mean they could cancel, but can make you very ill.
They found 22- 24 follicles, all of which are tiny (6mm) so now we try to grow them without adding to the count.
I am having trouble finding info on how many follicles is considered too many?
Thank you for your help x

    Hi ms Jo!

I have a low ovarian reserve but had 16 follicle at my first scan, 21 at my second and ended up with 24 eggs and moderate OHSS which was nasty! Fingers crossed they all grow nicely for you, I'm quite happy with the cycle I had I just wish I'd been more prepared that I wouldn't get a fresh transfer due to the OHSS, but I have 7 frozen embryos which are happy to wait for me. Wishing you all the best xx

I don't have pcos, on my first cycle which was an antagonist cycle I was told they aim for between 6 and 10 eggs. So I guess anymore then 10 follicles could put you at risk. I was on 150iu gonal f and ended up with 10 follicles and 7 eggs, I didn't get ohss.
