Yukkk Glucose Test

I've just drank the Glucaid, for the glucose test for GD, now I'm waiting the hour I feel so sick

the drink it self was bearable but the after feeling makes me want to vomit... Just a mini vent - sorry just bored waiting in the waiting room.

Hope the results are good *fingers crossed*

The drink can make you feel sick, alot of my patients say that. Hope the hour flies by.

I remember it being tasty! Like fanta, but yeah that hour wait after is not fun! Hope it goes quick and your test comes out clear from GD

My test last week came back high

Was such a shock. I keep guiltily thinking of the lemonade and chocolates i have had

I am now doing the two hour GTT test. Has anyone had a high initial test but then not been diagnosed with GD?

I have, i got a high reading with the 1 hour test but passed the 2 hour test.

I feel for you OP i felt ill with the 1 hour test but the 2 hour test was so awful i struggled to even drink it and was on the verge of spewing.

Yeah the 2 hr gtt has 75 grams of sugar where as the 1 hr glucose challenge only has 50

Bit off track, but how many weeks are you when you have the test done and do you generally have to book?

It depends, all doctors are different. Yes I would book in so that you dont have to wait.

You poor thing that drink was so gross lol. I remember having one sip and thinking it wasn't too bad then a few sips later was gagging. The pathologist was yelling at me too cause I couldn't drink it quick enough :/
