Default Certificate needed to do nails?

    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows if you need a formal qualification/certificate to do gel/acrylic nails? Particularly in WA? Or can you simply learn from someone who is qualified?

    Thanks in advance

Pretty sure you don't because I have done a course and it's just a normal certificate. Not government or anything.

I'm in qld so might be diff. Will be interesting to see if anyone knows.

What was your old username? I've been meaning to ask

Cert II in Nail Technology will be the one you're looking for.

So you need a formal qualification to be able to do people's nails, rather than learning how and, say, doing it from home?

I don't know about NOW or in WA, but I know a few years ago you didn't need an qualifications. That is why you see so many people walking around with sh*tty fake nails though.

A nail tech who is qualified will probably be able to provide you with these: http://us.123rf.com/400wm/400/400/do...d-pedicure.jpg

Someone who doesn't really know what they're doing, will give you something like this: http://www.nailsartdesigns.com/wp-co...-Designs-4.jpg Thick and hideous and OTT!
