    Default Anxious about hearing

Hi everyone... a bit stressed about DS's hearing. He was perfectly fine at birth and has been every since, however, yesterday, he was exposed to three very loud bangs on the door at what I think was close range. He seems to be ok today and not pulling at his ears etc. I cant get into hearing people until Wednesday afternoon. He seems to still be hearing ok, so not sure what potential damage may have been done. He is 16 months old. Would be greatful for others experience.

hi mum2matt. I would expect there would be no damage to his hearing. Loud noise has to be constant noise, like taking a baby to a rock concert every weekend for the first year or two. The noise of banging on a door would register and wake a sleeping baby maybe, but I would be very surprised if there was any long term damage done. Marie.

Thanks Marie... probably just mother paranoia (sp.). Hopefully good results at the hearing centre. Fiona
