Default Do you think everyone meets the one for them?

So was wondering do you think that everyone meets "The One" I tend to think that we are destined to be with someone and that we do meet them but may not know its them. Say a good friend that we just never realize that its there, or a stranger that we might come across make small chat and blow off as just another random.

With so many people meeting people from across the world and being a perfect fit it seems to me that we do meet the one eventually and at the right time.

    WDYT?

I don't believe in 'The One'.

There are 7 billion people in the world...I do not like your chances of finding 'The One' among all those people.

I think there are plenty of people we are compatible with, and it's a matter of finding one of those.

There is not one person in the world who you are supposed to spend the rest of your life with.

Agree with LoveyDovey, I don't believe there is one person in the world that we're destined to be with.

I don't believe in 'the one' either. To kind of answer the question, I think we do all meet someone who we could be compatible with and settle down with but like you said OP, we might to see it at the time, it might be bad timing etc. but I believe there are others out there we could be with if that happens.

No, I think there are lots of people out there that are potential partners for each other, not just one.

So do you guys think there are people (more than one) that we are destined to be with or is destiny just not so?

I don't believe in destiny but I have found the one for me. There's nobody else in this world more compatible for me than him. If anything ever happened and we separated I would want someone (female - no more men) so I don't die alone but it would never be the same.

I believe most people don't meet 'the one'. My poor grandma married back in the day because it was the done thing, and divorce was the done thing. She's still stuck with him despite the fact he treated her like dog poo throughout their entire marriage.

I think there are probably several others in the world who you would be compatible with to such a degree you could spend your whole life with them. There might be thirty others in the world who you would be able to spend your days with and you'd feel content and like they were 'the one'. Not that they were the one person in the world that could've happened with, but because they were the one of the thirty you happened to come across first. I only think like this because I've met a few people that I was highly compatible with but for one reason or another they weren't the one who fit due to circumstances like they'd already found one of their thirty or something. (I'm just using thirty as an example.)
That's why I think you can meet someone half way across the world on a holiday that you made at the last minute because you decided New York wasn't right this time of year and BAM you happen to meet the person you'll marry. For all you know back home at a similar time if you'd stayed you might have smashed into them in the supermarket with your trolley and discovered you buy the same stuff.

In my own case, if I'd left school when I originally wanted and gotten the exact same job that I got when I left a few months later, I probably would've met someone different and wound up with them. Instead, I met someone else I was compatible with those few months later. I ramble. I'm by myself a lot lol.

My mom met a crapper too, her parents were old fashioned and despite him being very abusive they told her she would not divorce him because they would not be shamed of having a daughter who couldnt make a relationship work and a single mom. She left anyway went on to change laws so that she could adopt me as a single mom and ended up going to get degrees and making a great life for her kids, she did it all on her own and her mother finally came around and saw that she was wrong.
