Default period type cramping at 37 weeks

just wondering if period type cramping is normal at 37 weeks? i've been getting them on and off for the last few days...? does this mean labor is close? i am really over being pregnant and i'm hoping its a sign i might go into labor early... i was told by the midwife a few days ago i am 2/5 engaged but my cervix was still closed.

i've also had a lot of pressure, not pelvic pain so much, but pressure down under... i'm hoping these are positive signs??

    so over it!!

Looking back it was early labour for me too. The morning DD wad born, I didn't realise that the constant period like cramps were actually contractions...I arrived at the birth centre expecting to be given panadeine & be sent home. Instead I was 7cm!

I'm 37 weeks and getting the same thing. Could be a sign but could also just be normal for these last weeks. I have also been ridiculously emotional yesterday and today - spent most of both days in tears for no freaking reason. Fingers crossed something starts to happen for you soon.

I've been really emotional today too... grumpy and on the verge on tears...

the cramping isn't regular, not like contractions, just like a period cramping... i think that's what's making me grumpy cause it's constant pain/uncomfortable cramps...

a few braxton hicks, but not painfull and only a couple... bub has been a little quieter yesterday and today as well - not as active as normal. I've heard that's a small sign sometimes as well...

With everything you are describing it sounds like bubba is about ready to arrive! I could have written your post before I had my bubby girl!
