If you get a wif enabled only. iPad you can create a hotspot on a smart phone and share the interwebby usage, but it does chew up battery
so a sim card goes in the dongle, and how do you put the usage on the sim card?

It comes with 8GB of inbuilt memory, but also has a micro SD slot which allows you to increase that by 32GB.

In terms of reliability and user friendliness, Samsung is second only to Apple in the current market.

I personally would stay away from unknown brands - if you stick with a well known one you can at least be assured that they have their reputation to uphold, so even if the product isn't up to standard, at least there will be some accountability.

    HTH.
I would be willing to part with $250 but that would be it. Thanks you've been very helpful

I'm on mine now! Best thing ever! I love it. But definitely get one with 3G so you can use it all the time - not just with wifi access. I'm taking mine on a plane trip so dd can watch movies and kids shows etc. they have a 10 hour battery life so much better than portable DVD players. I've also downloaded great kids apps and educational games. They keep dd entertained for ages. I do all my online shopping, banking, fb, etc and great on the kitchen bench with recipes! Highly recommend getting one!

Same as a mobile Phn contract or prepaid agreement. It can even be linked with your home Phn, existing Internet or mobile Phn contract(s)

hmmm interesting is the dongle all that's needed with non 3g and is it cumbersome?

I bought an Ipad second hand as I couldn't justify the money on a new one. And good move really because I basically NEVER play it!

DP plays it more then me. I hate that it doesn't have a flash player and you cant use microsoft office etc etc.

I get sick of the apps etc etc (except a few).

I would of much rather buy a galaxy tab or something of the like. I bought an Ipad 1. Not interested in trying the rest.

Noo but I want one! Well, an Android one! I'd use it in bed and around the house, I'm more of an online reader than a typist - I usually only go on the Mac to edit my photos so I'd love a tablet as a portable portfolio, plus my camera bag has a tablet spot just crying out to be used!

I don't have an ipad, I am not sure if I want one. My 5 year old got one for her birthday though (not from me)

I've had one for a while now, I've used it every single day since getting it. I read on it, do our online grocery shopping on it, chat with my friends, download all kinds of awesome apps including educational ones for DS.

DP doesn't find there's any limitations and he develops apps. No, they don't have flash but flash is actually pretty outdated and I'm trying to think of one scenario where I've suddenly desperately needed flash.

delirium, depending on what sort of phone you have, you can use your phone for portable wifi and hook it up that way. The more expensive ones have it inbuilt but I think you have to pay extra per month for that.
