And you know what, it is very very very rare that she throws a tantrum because she knows it has never gotton her what she wants (not even that bit of attention when you rush home/bribe/etc)

As a person who works with customers this is exactly the parenting I like to see

I don't mind the kids screaming the shop down as long as the parents don't give in (most give in, buy them the lolly/toy and the next time they are in it happens again, without fail). I know it's judgemental and I'm sorry to parents who would rather give in or leave (I don't want to upset anyone ) but I see this all the time, and seriously its worth sticking to your guns and riding it out.

The worst times are when you are indicating and waiting for a car to leave and you move into that spot and some car pulls up behind you, abusing you for parking there without a permit.
Or just having old people going "You are not allowed to park here. Only with a permit. You seem to have nothing wrong with you and you're not old either".

I do wonder why I bother putting the permit on my windscreen if no one but the ranger is going to bother looking at it before having a go at me simply because of my age and my "seemingly intact" body.

Oh and I don't always park on these spots anyway. I realize there are always people out there worse off. They're in wheelchairs and all that. So I only use them on my bad days. Even then I get out of the car and keep looking down at the ground so I don't need to see the disapproving looks.

    Back to topic now though
This annoys me too. My sister gets filthy looks when driving into a disabled parking spot as well. She puts the sticker up, still gets filthy looks until someone grabs her chair out for her. And even then some still do. Bloody people hey!!!

I would love for people to be spontaneous with their kids without judgement, jumping in puddles, singing, dancing.

We really need to loosen up.

thanks so much!! you just made my day!!

i love the spontaneity in life too - read far too much SARK and love jumping on the whizzy dizzy's at the park, wearing pyjamas to the drive in etc.
think we all need to take the lead of our kids sometimes
