Default Sorry, another pram thread; advice for a friend

sorry girls, i know pram threads have been done to death. I have a friend at work who's pregnant and although i love the baby jogger range and have recommended basically any/all of them, she's still quite undecided.
    Here's her criteria:
Reversible handle/seat so bub can face her in the early months
Bassinet or seat that turns into a bassinet
    lightish ie not over 14kg
bub nice and high in pram (she was looking at the stokke explory for this)
wants to use the pram for shopping centres and walking for fitness and also out and about to cafe's, restaurants and friends places
her hubby is an accountant and he's all about saving the $$$; pretty sure they'd be happy to spend big first up rather than buy 2-3 prams getting the right one.

    Thanks in advance!

Phil and teds promenade? I can't remember how much it weighs but it fits all the other boxes I'm tossing between that or waiting for the baby jogger versa to come out.

I have the Strider Plus 3 wheeler. I saw in another thread once that apparently it means I'm a bogan, lol! But, boganess aside, I like it. Easy to switch out the basinet & seat, easy to turn it around to face me or face out, it's good for walking and the basket underneath is a good size. It's also easy to attach a second seat for a second baby when the time comes.

The only down side is its a little wide.

Price wise, I got the pram with both the seat and basinet plus some accessories that I can't really remember now for about $700/$800.

I was always set on a baby jogger city select. Until I compared it to a strider plus 4 wheeler. With my 17.5kg 3.5 year old DD and 10kg 6 month old DS, the strider won hands down on maneuverability, folding was very similar to the BJSC and they are quite similar in size once folded. And I like that DS is hidden from old ladies hands at shops by being under DD!

I walked in expecting to spend $1000+ on the BJSC and spent just over $600 on the strider and I am so happy with it

To be honest I think the BJSC looks great when you have two seats on it, but looks weird with only one seat. It is a big frame with only one small seat on it. Does anyone else think this, or am I just odd?

I have the Strider Plus 4 wheeler, and it ticks all those boxes.

Reversible handle/seat so bub can face her in the early months
Yep. I still have DD facing me (at 22mths), and we both love it as she chatters away to me the whole time we're shopping.

Bassinet or seat that turns into a bassinet
Yep. Mine came with a car capsule that clicks in and out of the car and pram (up to 9kg), a bassinet, and a seat that you can use from birth until they outgrow it (DD still in it at 22mths).

    lightish ie not over 14kg
Yep. Mine's 12kg, and I have no issues with its weight.

bub nice and high in pram (she was looking at the stokke explory for this)
Yep. Maybe not as high as the Stokke, but the baby is still high up. That was something I wanted too. AND the handle on the stroller is high, which was important for me as I found many of them too short in general.

wants to use the pram for shopping centres and walking for fitness and also out and about to cafe's, restaurants and friends places
Yep! This is my life. It's good for "off-road" woods type walks, as it has big sturdy wheels. Also good for shopping centres, cafes, general life.

I use it all the time. It can also take a 2nd seat if you end up with 2 kids. I think it's great.

One extra thing I like about it, that most prams don't seem to have, is that it has a HUGE basket underneath for shopping. I can spend many hours shopping (!) and I like that I can throw everything underneath, and rarely run out of space. Most other prams don't seem to be able to hold as much.

The only pram I know that the seat changes into a bassinet is the p&t promenade.
Otherwise city select all the way!

    Haha.

No I have a Mammas and Pappas Sola, which is very similar to the P&T promenade. If I hadn't of had family in UK buying for me I would of been very tempted by the P&T.
