Question Can I get full rate centerlink payment when I use a sperm donor as a single mother?

I am a single woman who will get a baby from a known sperm donor, I am in melbourne. Just wondering, if I put the father name as 'sperm donor' in birth certificate, can I get full rate of FTB from centerlink? Or should I just leave the father name empty or put the donor's real name there?

Any idea will be appreciated a lot..

    Hi Elly-

Are you pregnant now, or going to go through this process in the future? Did you go through a fertility clinic? It's my understanding that it depends on the process you went through.

I have not started yet, I have found a known donor, I am just thinking about how to go through this process.. the donor suggest that I can get a diy-baby kit to do it privately, then time can be faster and I can save more money as well.. still not to sure about how to start yet...however, I am planing my financial budget for the future about raising a baby. If I can not get full FTB or centerlink payment is reduced a lot.. then it might be a possibility for a financial problem for me in the unknowing future...

I am struggled here.. hope anyone can give me idea about what to do, then I will not lost the centlink payment in the future... thanks a lot...

if you put your donors name on the birth certificate then he will have to pay child support there is almost no way around this. my suggestion is to seek legal advice.

Just because someone is asking a question about ftb, doesn't mean she can't afford a baby?

Hi there I'm single and 28 weeks pregnant with donor sperm. And I was told that it makes no different on any payments. You should go over to the single and donor sperm thread they are a great support.

    Its ALL welfare :/

It is all monetary support from the government.

Op if you want to have him on the certificate as a sperm donor then you needs to see a doctor and get him officially listed otherwise cds will chase him and you will loose part of your payment
