    Default 5 week heartbeat

Did your babys heartbeat get detected at 5weeks 2days? Is 80 beats/per/minutes considered slow for this gestational age?

I spoke to my dr about this yesterday and she said at 4 weeks unlikely to see anything, 5 weeks you will prob see sack, 6 weeks you could possibly see a heartbeat but at 7 weeks you would defo see the heart beat. Good luck but I am holding out on my scan until 6-7weeks. Btw I am 4 weeks 2 days ATM.

We heard DS heart beat at 5 weeks as well and was around 80bpm, the sonographer said was low because it would only just have started beating
DS is now a very active 20 month old

    No problems.
But if you sack measured 5w2d, wouldn't that mean you are 7w2d pregnant going by date of LMP.

I was thinking the same thing...it would have only just started beating, which probably explains the low rate.
If it worries you, you could always get a scan in a few weeks to see whether it's at a "normal" rate.

technically anything under 100 is considered on the lower side,BUT most ppl do not even get a heartbeat at 5wks so I honestly wouldn't stress if I was you.

The heart normally starts beating at 5ish weeks and will increase over time. We detected bubs heartbeat at 6+4 it was 129. At 12+1 it was 170ish i think??

I wouldn't stress, a think any HB that early is a good thing.

    When is your next scan.

It's a perfectly normal heart rate at that gestation.

    Hi,

With DD I didn't get a heartbeat until 7 weeks, I had a scan right on 5 weeks and just had a sac, nothing else.

Yes that is fine for 5 weeks odd. It starts off at around 80 beats per minute.
